Theis is taller, longer wingspan, is a shot blocker, a 9 rebs/36 guy. Kobe doesn't have the length, he's not a shot blocker and he's not that level of rebounder. He does seem to have the modern NBA combo forward skillset though.

Kobe Brown is not a center, he's a true power forward. And my comments are more in line with TJ Tucker coming in and taking his minutes

Now this is something they should try, as PJ Tucker is killing us at both ends. Even if only until Plum gets back.

Kobe left home. What they have decided to try is to get some productive minutes out of veteran warrior PJ Tucker, who all NBAers respect.

Plus the Clippers have to pay PJ 2 yr/$22M GUARANTEED. Whether they cut him or not. Unlike Theis, PJ is NOT going to take a buyout. Play me or trade me, but you're going to have to PAY ME.

Because NOBODY wants him.

Would Moses brown be worth bringing back on a 10 day?

Clippers need to come in focused and get these two wins.

Would put them them at 6-7. Would then start to creep up back to top 8. Right now they are 11th place.

Buy out with two years left is tough, but in a buy out he will still get paid. The negotiation could be that he gives up the equivalent of a minimum contract which he would recoup with the other team he signs with. I don't think anyone is thinking of buyout at this moment though.

he is getting paid too much, but I don't think they need to trade him or buy him out- he is useful in some situations where you need a big body and he can still stick a corner 3 here and there if he gets in the groove. I'd prefer Brown get his minutes though most of the time

I really want to see Brown get a shot too, if his 3 holds up that alone can help spacing in certain lineups over Tucker. We have to keep Tucker for the year, as we are short big men and he's not completely unplayable. But in the offseason he would become an expiring at a pretty versatile number.

If we're still having discussions about PJ's role in spring, I just might have to use the nuclear option and add a Fire Ty banner to my signature.

Right now his only use seems to be as an occasional small ball center. Him as a PF next to Zu is bad, and it's probably not going to be much better pairing him with anyone else, but I'm sure Ty will try to make it happen.

Maybe we could get away with 20 minutes of PJ once/if the offense starts clicking (meaning Kawhi/PG/Harden/Russ figure things out) and he can hit a few shots, but it's still going to feel like a waste relying on him so much.

In a "perfect" world, Plumlee comes back sooner rather than later looking good, then Theis can be our second option at PF (still not entirely comfortable with 6'5" Terance as the main option there, but it's all about what's best for the stars) and also main option as small ball center, which we're probably going to be seeing a lot of. But it's also asking a lot from Theis, basically we just got you for nothing, after not being much of a factor except at the World Cup, now please become a key piece for us right away.

T-Mann/Theis/Kobe/Tucker & Zu/Plum/Moussa wouldn't be the worst options out there for the 4/5, but we really need 1-3 to be playing at their very best on both ends (or as much as you can reasonably ask from Harden on defense).

Then try to figure out who to stagger with Russ/Norm/Bones.

Also, why is Amir still on the roster if he's not going to play at all? And if Bones can't get any minutes, BBJ might as well start working out with other teams.

Kind of feels like we have one more move to make, but we'll see. First let's win a few more games, don't want to be chasing .500 for most of the season.

The conspiracy guy in me says "fear that he will defeat us in a playoff series," assuming Coffey joins an elite contender. The only reason why Reggie Jackson is on Nuggets was because Clippers traded him (and Hornets helped Nuggets by buying out his contract).

The heart guy in me says "he's homegrown." Clippers didn't draft Coffey in the 2019 NBA Draft - in fact, no one did; he's actually undrafted. Allows the Clippers to pretend that they did draft him, but he's not there in the "Terance Mann" (he-saved-the-Clippers-from-a-painful-forced-rebuild) sense.

The vibes I'm getting from Clipper fans is actually that, vibes. A familiar locker room presence that will keep the team harmonious and clicking by way of moral support. If Clippers love vibes so much, maybe they should do what MLB Angels did: adopt a rallying monkey. Or NHL St. Louis Blues it and adapt a song ala "Gloria" by Laura Branigan. Or you could combine powers like MLB's Nationals with "Baby Shark," a song about a family of adorable marine predators.

All I'm saying is, let's not get too attached to our players. Front office may deem them expendable one way or another, or they are retained because of "lucky charm" reasons; we will lose without them. If Clippers can just overcome their inner paranoia, they can accomplish anything.

Yeah. This Harden trade changed so much. Some have benefited but others are broke.

PG getting cooked on defense. They just go straight at him now. Hes lazy an doesnt get in a defensive position so he bites on every fake.

Westbrook gives and then takes away. He's having a solid run, then he goes and forces random shots for no reason

Theis is real nice. Fits perfectly what this team is trying to do.

Staged or not, coincidental or not, after RWB volunteering for the bench we are finally starting to look comfortable (we also got Theis at the same time.)

It remains to be seen how good we can be, but at least we’re starting to look comfortable. James is starting to look like James too.

How is that a common foul? Nah, that’s BS.

the clippers keep trying to turn zubac into a short-roll connector and it's hilariously a bust every time

really nice play by kawhi there

kawhi dribbled himself into a tough spot, PG tried to help and give him an outlet but ended up going the wrong way and scrunching up all of kawhi's available space, but kawhi threaded a great pass to zubac to make things right anyway

Leonard’s space is back. That man is happy. Inside at least.

For the Spurs, I like that Charles Bassey.
