No way. Mann brings heart, and effort. He doesnt think hes the best player on the court and doesnt generally force a shot just to shoot. Morris was selfish, not a team first guy. Morris spent most of his time getting his cardio in most nights. No effort. He would jog down the court and stand in the corner. He rarely got a rebound or boxed out the man closest to him.

Wow. I hope he is just trying to throw people off. Why would any coach say that about a player? Why tell opponents that they don't need to worry about a particular player on the offensive end?

How did you interpret his statement? This is pretty standard, not like you have to tell other coaches that Mann is the 5th option on the floor  they already know.

It's like asking if you would "incorporate" Grant Williams more to the offense, which would mean using him as a hub in the high post, or giving him shot creation or additional ball handling or something like that. No, these types of players are incorporated into the offense by taking open shots, setting screens, cutting, going after offensive rebounds.

It's just a waste of time for a coach to start worrying about how to incorporate their Shane Battier's into the offense.

The reality with Mann is that if this team is going to reach it's best potential he NEEDS to play well. There's no better alternative option for the role he occupies, so you keep his confidence up and keep the trust up. Shooting can come back, it does all the time. Coffey is an option, but at their best, Mann is the better defender and glue guy. Both so far are not shooting the best of course.

I was hating on Mook before it was cool to hate on Mook. But let's not get carried away with "eye tests" on T-Mann either, who--put simply--is a nice player.

In other words, he doesn't move the needle much. You add less than ONE POINT a game. But so what? Despite his recent shooting slump, he's given the Clips 20+ quality NBA minutes every night. For YEARS now.

I m not saying Mann is an all star. Im just saying he plays hard, makes good passes, is a connector, and a great teammate. You cant have all stars.

Morris was a head case, didnt play hard, and was terrible at defense/rebounding.
