PG with the bad TO and the usual "it's my teammates fault" body language.

This loss pisses me off. Yeah, yeah. It happens.

If PG or Harden show up in the first 3 quarters to help Leonard we win this.

PG was pathetic tonight. Team didnt start playing defense till the last 6 mins.Coffey putting in a lot of effort at the end but too little to late. You have to put that kind of effort on Mitchell all the time.

Winnable game if PG/Harden gave Kawhi more help. Harden was super passive until the 4th. Hats off to the bench esepcially the Barista.

Guess they decided to go with the "Lose Every Quarter" slogan tonight.

not too tight about the loss but don't really believe in moral victories. I guess the Cavs are kinda set up like the Jazz used to be, except Allen may be better offensively then Gobert, and is able to switch defensively. Kawhi doesn't really get calls. Harden and Pg didn't play well. Missed some shots at the end. But it kinda looked like the Minnesota loss. I kinda think PG should consider sitting if his groin is bothering him.

On to the next. The encouraging thing about this season is, the guys rarely if ever have two stinkers in a row. And even in these losses and games they don't play well, they still have chances to pull the games out.

Need to rest PG to get that groin right, I can see it affecting him now.

I knew this was coming the moment the entire media started hyping this team up in unison.

Yah, PG was coasting. Which is all right because at 80% he's still better than a replacement. He actually finished a team-high plus+4 while every other Clipper was in the red. He didn't really hurt us out there.

This was NOT a dive-to-the-floor-for-loose-balls kinda game, especially after a statement win vs BOS the other night. This was a survival game and we were still within 1 as late as the last minutes of the 3rd quarter.

Code: Select all

1:18      Norman Powell makes 23-foot three point jumper (Kawhi Leonard assists)   LAC 81   CLE 82

You're right--we should be able to rest PG's groin 3 of the next 4

WIZ
DET
MIA
ATL

play him only on Sunday against the Heat, and win them all.

The Land was STOKED tonight and gave us max effort from the opening tip. Respect. They're still missing a couple guys and will cause some trouble in the East. Not a moral victory but not a bad loss either.

This individual should really take this shttt over to the Bucks board and get ahead of the curve.
I'm sure they'll really appreciate it. :kiss

Plumlee sat out there unsigned, looking for a starting job. No takers. The Clips were a disaster with Moses Brown as the backup center*, so the Clips IMO overpaid Plum a bit @ 1 yr/$5M to show respect and let him know he is wanted and needed here.

Theis is a buyout. Scrap heap. Who gets bought out so early? No trade value, no salary cap ballast, no nothing.

Point being--once Zu gets back, instead of last year's disaster with no backup center, we're DEEP, and can play the matchups.
______________

* I could show you the numbers when Zu was on and off the floor but I hope you'll take my word for it. When Hartenstein left, it went from a plus to DEATH.

100%
Zu is a difference maker in the middle. May not be a future HOFer but his presence is a key to us getting to & winning a title this year.

The Cavs are a very tough matchup for most teams good or bad. I hate losing no matter what but they deserve respect. There’s a reason they’re on the streak they’re on. And we were still in this game even with a lot of bad performances.

Coffey can stand in for PG if he rests and Kobe can get Coffey’s minutes. Hopefully all wins

Had a feeling the Cavs were going to be a problem for the Clippers, especially with Zu out. It also seemed like a perfect storm of Mobley coming back and the Clippers with a big win over the Celtics made this one over before it even started. Despite that the Clippers still hung around so there is that. The rest of the road trip should be all W's with maybe the Hawks giving them some trouble at the very tail end of the road trip.

Was disappointing to see the loss, but, not out of the realm of possibilities with the road trip..

Should do well the rest of the trip.
