Clippers have already defeated Kings twice this season. Kings are trying to fight for a playoff spot, and since they can't get the season series, the least they can do is tie it.
I propose a season series win, go for three, and here's why: most of the Clipper's 1st round playoff opponents have been against teams they tied the season series with: Warriors in 2013-14, Spurs in 2014-15, and Suns last season. If Clippers lose to Kings, odds are Sacramento could be their 1st round opponent. A much easier opponent, yes, with Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter out for the rest of the season, but that doesn't mean they should take their chances. History shows us Clippers are more likely to get eliminated from the 1st round by a team they've won a season series against (Grizzlies in 2012-13, Blazers in 2015-16, Jazz in 2016-17).

Forget the Pacific Division. The stakes are higher than ever. George could be taken away from Clippers. Harden can follow suit. Westbrook may leave on account of a hypothetical fallout. The new arena with just Leonard and a bunch of role players could be a failure, prompting a massive fire sale and rebuild. If the Clippers want to keep this super team, they have to win out. Defeat the Kings to take the season series.
Besides, the world wants Clippers-Mavericks III. Clippers should too. I'll explain why when we get to it.
