Didn’t get that one but I don’t see Kidd as a smart coach either.

The game worked, apparently.

Great win! Harden and Zu were the standouts. PG, Mann, and Russ contributed big time. Refs tried their hardest to keep Dallas in the game. Lets get Game 2, the Mavs slurpfest from the media and refs makes me want to vomit

That's the way you secure another big bag Harden, 15 to go.
2023 Clippers W/L Count (51-31)
(Russ at bench 42-15)
without PG13 3-3
Without Kawhi 7-4
Without Russ 6-6

lol. Not playing Kawhi threw them off? So it wasn’t Mann or Coffey’s defense that threw them off? :) Without Kawhi they should have been feasting instead building brick houses in the first half.

If Harden continues this level of play through out the play offs - how much does he get from the Clippers?

How about we let him actually string together an entire playoff run of good games before we start asking that question? Let's hope he can keep his scoring above 20PPG. He hasn't done that for an entire playoff series since 2020.

Actually, I hope he has a wonderful playoffs and we win the title. Then, we can let him go to the highest bidder. Don't want to see us commit to him long term. If we extend him because he helped us win a title, then we can expect a less motivated heavier, slower Harden next year.

Maybe Kidd can use the same trick and sit Luka out in Game 2.

Well, he is just asking a hypothetical and it is worth considering. If we go on a really deep run (let's say a game 7 conference finals or better), Ballmer will be more inclined to want to pay up and keep the team together. It's a judgement call of short-term or long-term thinking.

The big issue IMO is not the money per year for James or PG but the years. 3 year deals will be much more palatable, they could still be painful the last year but the cost:benefit is better. Big 4 year deals for both would be painful to think about.
