Injury Report:
Image Los Angeles Clippers
Brevin Knight (left fibula stress reaction) will miss practice, but
is available to play limited minutes during games.
Elton Brand (ruptured left Achilles), Paul Davis (torn right ACL
and torn lateral meniscus) and Shaun Livingston (dislocated left knee)
    are out.

Image Orlando Magic
Tony Battie (torn rotator cuff, left shoulder) is out.

Both teams have had a woeful new year so far and have yet to win a game in 2008. The Clippers have lost their last 2 while the Magic have dropped 3 straight. Both teams celebrating their last victory on the eve of the new year are hungry for wins. In head to head history, we haven't lost to the Magic at home since November 14, 2002.

As the two teams clash, we'll witness a matchup between two of the leagues best big men. Both young centers have increased their output by significant amounts and are amongst the league's leaders in rebounds, blocks and double-doubles.

Rebounds
Kaman -- 14.0 (tied for 2nd in NBA)
    Howard -- 15.19 (1st in the NBA)
Blocks
    Kaman -- 2.9 (3rd in NBA)
    Howard -- 2.64 (5th in NBA)
Double Doubles
    Kaman -- 25 (2nd in NBA)
    Howard -- 31 (1st in NBA)

Kaman will have to stay out of foul trouble while guarding the beast that is Dwight Howard. The rest of our frontcourt will have their hands full out to the perimeter guarding the Orlando forwards who have quite a few inches on us and are likely to drain a few threes. I personally am hoping to see Thornton continue to flourish. He has averaged 16 points per game in the last 2. I doubt we'll see him log 40 minutes again as Thomas is ready to see more action.

Let's Go Clippers, Let's Go!!

It concerns me to see that the Magic haven't won a game yet in 2008. They'll be ready...will the identity-less Clippers be? That said...God bless Dwight Howard. The man is a beast.

The Magic lost to the Kings on Tuesday by a close score of 104-100. The matchup overall was worse for wear for the Magic. They struggled to make their shots and allowed the Kings players to get their offense going strong for the majority of the game. I'm a fan of the Magic and would like for them to win this, but with the offensive struggles right now. The Clips might have a solid chance here.

you can say that again

The Magic have been the team that I've rooted for on the East for years but they they'll always be a distant second. I didn't see the Kings-Magic game on TV, but just by looking at live boxscore you can tell it was an intense game as it went down to wire. Orlando had some big shots down the stretch to try to pull closer but came up short.

I think we could actually pull this game off if Kaman stays out of foul trouble and hits his shots. We tend to play Orlando well and they are coming off a back to back but they are a very strong team so we will need all players to contribute.

Even thought i don't like the magic Howard is probably going to rip kaman apart like a little boy like he has being doing with the rest of the league so far this season.

I think Arroyo is going to have a good game and Kaman will hold his own, hopefully.

two of the top centers under age 25 tonight, that will be a treat. magic will be hungry after giving one up last night in sac-town so we might run into some trouble tonight. we do have a huge advantage in the back court, cassell should eat nelson up and cat should have a good night being guarded by keith bogans. i'm really interested to see how kaman responds to his first mathcup this year w/ dwight howard.

This is a trap game for the Magic. Both teams, who aren't playing great, are hungry to get the W. The Kaman vs. D-12 matchup will be very intriguing to watch. It will be a battle between Kaman's skill set and Howard's toughness.

Giving up 104 points to a Kevin Martin-less Kings team means we will have to hit our open jumpers, cause they will give us open 20 footers all game.

I hope Dumbleavy starts Al. He deserves to be permanently in the starting lineup in my opinion. He'll be much better than Maggette.

Let's go Clipps!

I also think the first couple of minutes of the game will be important for which ever team wins. The Clipps need to secure a lead early in the game so they will have confidence the rest of the way.

Guillermo Diaz' debut will have to wait. There was a clerical error with the active roster so he will not be able to play tonight.

Enjoy the game Danny.

The magic have gone on a 9-0 run after the teams were tied at 7. Clippers are 2-11 from the field and Cassell is still in his shooting slump.

He hit's them both. Dooling scores an 8 footer in the lane and then Clips turn it over. 14 point game.

This sucks. I was really excited to see Guillermo play tonight. Hopefully, Diaz will watch the game and see how he can fit into the system.

D-12 with a huge lob dunk and a great touch pass for a layup.

The Clippers aren't playing defense. The Clippers aren't taking smart shots (besides Thornton and Kaman).

Maggette with an open three at the buzzer. Thornton is playing real well, but that's basically it.

35-20 at the end of the 1st. We can go only up from here.

Return to Los Angeles Clippers
