Weeks Sidelined with Injured Finger

Post#1 » by crkone » Tue May 1, 2007 1:41 am

Here is a link for the injured finger of Weeks.

Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks was out of the starting lineup against St. Louis for the second consecutive game tonight with an injured index finger on his throwing hand.

Weeks originally hurt the finger in a game in Chicago last week, fielding a grounder, then aggravated the injury taking a relay throw Saturday in Houston on a triple by Craig Biggio.

X-rays on the finger were negative but Weeks suffered a crack in the fingernail and a bruise on the tip of the finger. Weeks was able to swing a bat but was having problems gripping the ball to make throws.

With Weeks sidelined, the Brewers had no extra infielders available. In an emergency, Yost said he could move centerfielder Bill Hall back to the infield.

With how Yost covers up injuries, Weeks probably has a broken arm.

Not sure if you are dissing Counsell especially, but he has been excellent. Sure he isn't hitting .330 with 10 homers and 30 rbi, but he has come up with some big hits for us already this season. He is usually a tough out as well and makes the pitcher work. Graffy has not been what he was last year and if Braun keeps tearing up AAA then Graffy may be the odd man out.

I dunno bringing the chances of bringing Braun up now, if we keep on playing this good.
Who knows how good he is going to be when he first comes up?

Will he better then graff and counsell thats hard to say for me.

No the point here is that im not dissing them. Im saying that THAT is why we brought both in. For those well predicted injuries. Tho this one doesnt seem too bad.

Most decent players could hit better than Counsell right now. And those guys don't cost 2-3 mil a year.
