Wild Card Weekend vs. Green Bay Packers.

Post#1 » by bluejerseyjinx » Wed Jan 10, 2024 4:51 pm

Can't help but wonder if the Stars are lining up for us perfectly this year. Packers are one team we owe a lot of payback to. Putting on a whooping this weekend on the Packers would be a great start.

If our Cowboys come to play, no stupid penalties, defense plays lights out or close to it and Dak plays a clean game, we will put up a 40 spot in this game and it should be over by halftime.

Refraining from all Mike McCarthy and Dak talk until our season ends. Only thing that matters to me right now is winning. 28 years is a long time. Too long for me. No more cupcakes and tomato can teams from here on out. We have to be ready to play every down moving forward. Its about who wants it more. This is the time of the year where legends are born and legacies are made. Outside the fact we earned the #2 seed by our regular season play, none of it matters anymore. Its big boy football now !!!!!

The Cowboys SHOULD win this game. They are at home against a very young team with a suspect defense. Everything points to the Cowboys winning this game big. Let’s hope they do.

I actually have a bad feeling but I think it's just because it's the Packers.

It feels like we just have really bad luck vs that team.

It's to the point that my distain for them is right up there with Philly and the 49ers.

I hope we just straight up massacre them TBH...to erase that Packer curse...I hope it's a repeat of Dallas vs Bucs last year.

If we were on the road I might feel the same. Since they are at home though I think they will win this game. Green Bay is a really young team and from everything I’ve been reading their defense is weak especially down the middle. Ferguson probably has a big game if that’s true. They NEED to get Pollard going and early.

For some reason I am not the slightest bit nervous about today's game. Don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing. :dontknow:

Position wise this is the best opportunity we've had since 2008. Part of me says if we can't do it this year, when?

Hankins should make a huge difference in the run game. Packers are worried about Watson and are thinking of going 2 TE sets like the Bills did to us and run Jones down our throats. Hopefully Quinn will counter with an extra D-lineman instead of all safety's in run support.

3 penalties already. Not a good sign.

3 straight seasons the Cowboys are great in the regular season and bad in the playoffs.

Jerry Jones has a lot of decisions to make once this game is over.

McCarthy is definitely gone.

Dan Quinn will leave.

And will Jerry make Dak the highest paid QB in the league next season?

Dak is a reg season QB.This team is a reg season team. This team has no discipline or physicality.
This owner has no discipline on how to talk or clue on how to deal with this fragile a team.
When you have an owner who is good, and a coach/gm he trusts you can end up with the Patriots.
The aftermath is gonna be more enjoyable than the game. :banghead:

First things first, remove McCarthy and Quinn.

I have no problem with Quinn staying. He,and his defense really gel,and get along well. The thing that derailed us was Diggs getting seasoned.
Our GM or whoever drafts has to draft big physical OLinemen/Dlinemen or whatever else.Guys who have an edge.
We have been pushed around by physical teams this year on the road too much.

The Cowboys secondary did fine this season, even without Diggs.

It's the run defense that's been questionable the last 3 seasons.

Maybe if Quinn wants to stay then he can stay, but I think he's leaving anyway.

I have 3 concerns:

1. Is making Dak the highest paid QB in the league going to be worth it?

2. McCarthy has to go, so who replaces him?

3. Will Dan Quinn leave or not?

My concern with Dan Quinn is his defense is only effective if they can get to the QB.

This season, if the Dallas defense can't get to the QB for sacks, the Cowboys struggled or lost.

I would replace McCarthy with any of 3 good coaches who are out there right now.Belichik would be my number 1 because this team sucks at situational playing, and no discipline.Belichik still has it,but Jerry has to give it to him.He has to give him full power, and Jerry has to back off and throw yacht parties or something, and keep his meddling to himself.Noone likes a backseat coach.
Draft big ,hard edged, fast, and physical players ,and Belichik or Carroll or maybe even Vrabel could change the lack of discipline culture.

Carroll's teams have always been among the most undisciplined. Near the top of the league in penalties every year. He's not a disciplinarian. Far from it.
