If Dak is healthy the entire season? No way we are sub .500

Only way we tank is if he gets injured.

Better odds that Dak wins MVP than the Cowboys tanking with Dak at QB.

With a rookie LT or rookie LG/C combo there a good chance Dak doesn’t make it through the season.

Even if Dak puts up numbers I could see the Cowboys losing 9-10 games. Don’t forget they are running an entire new defensive scheme. They don’t even have all the players they need to make Zimmer’s defense work. Then having to play a 1st place schedule on top of that. Oh I forgot it’s a MM lame duck season too. All of that spells bad season from my point of view.

When is the last time Dallas had a subpar O-line?

It's been a while, no? I was envious of that line that had three All-Pro's (Smith, Martin, Frederick).

The Hawks don't value interior lineman. Especially Guards. That's why they've never had a decent O-line. They refuse to spend significant resources on them. Which is a big pet peeve of mine.

Probably have to go back to 2010. They had Gurode and not a lot else. Drafted Smith in 2011 and Frederick 2 years later - Martin the following year.

We already saw Tyler Smith fill in for Tyron for an entire year and we went 12-5

The worst I can even imagine with a healthy Dak is 9-8 and that is not "tanking". In fact we probably still play make the playoffs with that.

Two guys on the OL I know they are banking on are Asim Richards and Brock Hoffman. In a perfect world both would develop to become good starters. That’s a long shot though.

Yes I'd take that over what the Panthers and Bryce Young are going through because that is unwatchable.

We've only had two sub .500 seasons in the last decade and both came because of QB injuries. And both of those seasons were unwatchable.

How many playoff wins?

You're asking me if I would rather be what we are now, or tank. One is watchable football and the other isn't. One at least has a playoff game to watch, the other doesn't.

Only if you consider being down 27-0 before half time watchable.

I think you might be too generous saying the Cowboys might only lose 9 or 10 games.

Alright, let's talk draft!

I'll post my rankings on prospects. We can debate. Since Bjj seems up for it.

QB
1. Caleb Williams
2. Jayden Daniels
3. Drake Maye
4. Bo Nix
5. Michael Penix

WR/TE
1. Malik Nabers
2. Marvin Harrison
3. Rome Odunze
4. Brian Thomas
5. Brock Bowers

OL
1. Joe Alt
2. Amarius Mims
3. Taliese Fuaga
4. Troy Fautanu
5. JC Latham

DL
1. Dallas Turner
2. Laiatu Latu
3. Jared Verse
4. Byron Murphy
5. Johnny Newton

LB
1. Edgerrin Cooper
2. Payton Wilson
3. Junior Colson
4. Cedric Gray

DB
1. Quinyon Mitchell
2. Terrion Arnold
3. Nate Wiggins
4. Cooper DeJean
5. Tyler Nubin

The one position group I have yet to do a deep dive on is RB. But the group overall seems fairly underwhelming.

McCarthy is coming back for another year so I could careless what the Cowboys do and thinking about watching Dak play another year makes me sick to my stomach. I'm way more interested in what Kansas City and the other teams do.

Get Dak to waive his no trade clause, then trade him to Washington for their first round draft pick and draft Drake Maye.

The more that I've watched of Nix & McCarthy, the more I've come around on them. Both are borderline 1st/2nd round talents in my mind. McCarthy will obviously go much earlier.

Penix did not make my list because of the medical & my concerns about team fit. Ultimately, where he ends up will determine the type of player he becomes.

If you want to draft an offensive lineman, this is the draft for you!

I've seen the film and saw all of them play at least twice last season. I did watch all of Drake Maye's games however. Not high on McCarthy at all.

Drake Maye out of all of them, has the most raw talent. But he is only 23 years old and needs a year to fine tune some things like they did with Mahomes. The LSU kid seems to be the most NFL ready. And I really hate to admit this, but that left handed QB out of Washington impressed the hell out of me in that game against Texas. Love his moxie !!
