After an impressive sweep against the Jazz, the Lakers are now poised for some overdue revenge on none other than the Phoenix Suns! The team has reached a new level since the first round, finally showing us more of the great team that lies in there. They're now on the final steps before the NBA Finals, Phoenix can not stand in our way en route to a repeat!!! Now is the time to quench our thirst for revenge and dispose of these Suns before Amare can say FREE AGENCY! Let's go LAKERS!!!

THIS IS REVENGE, NOT A REMATCH!!!


MY 5 POINTS TO VICTORY:

1) Control the Tempo: We can't be suckered into the run & gun of the Suns, we must stay true to our game.

2) Feed the Bigs early: Nuff said with that.

3) Minimize Turnovers: Don't let this Suns team get turnovers and get out on the open floor! That'll only give the Suns more confidence and worse... it'll speed up the game!! Hence Point 1!

4) Control the Boards: The Suns aren't exactly a small team, they have guys like Amundson & Dudley who are more than willing to do the dirty work for the W. Gasol, Bynum & Odom must control the boards, especially keeping the Suns away from Offensive Rebounds (2nd chance points).

5) Rotate Timely: The Suns are a team full of shooters, our boys gotta rotate defensively on time so that shooters like Nash, Frye & Dudley aren't out there dominating from 3-PT land.

Suns have the best bench of Lakers opponents so far. They've been playing strong but I think we could match up well with them.

Dragic - Farmar/Sasha?
Barbosa - Shannon (He's not the same Brazilian Blur he was 4 years ago)
Almundson - Lamar (Typical matchup for Lamar, high energy PF off the bench)

Dudley's going to have his hands full on the other end trying to defend Kobe so it'll be interesting if he and J.Rich continue playing well offensively.

You seem to forget we're not the old-ass Spurs, this is the team that you're gonna have nightmares about for decades to come. You also seem to forget your Suns have been on championship missions for YEARS with 99% of those missions failing! I don't care what you THINK you are, in LA we KNOW our Lakers are, it'll be beautiful stopping you guys out right before meeting our Finals foe. They are some of the most delusional fans out there. They truly do act like they were the ones that got to 3 straight WCF and won the championship last season. Not even us Laker fans are as cocky. I guess thats what happens when you miss the playoffs the year before.

Reggie Miller made a good point. The Suns have a bench that can ball, and that's going to be key in this upcoming series that the Lakers bench needs to produce.

Of course the Lakers need to stop the Sole from running as well.

D Fish hopefully can bug Nashty enough so he doesn't get that butter shotput three off very often, one of the sickest shots of all time, no clue how that thing goes in so frequently. He many times is off balance when casting that thing up, leaning forward, etc. Where does he practice those skylight threes? On the 20 foot carnival bball hoops at Magic Mountain?

great response gentleman. the aim isn't to cut out the fun, but i think we all realize when we go from talking trash to personal attacks and trolling.

there is an interesting trend between Sa/Pho, SA in gm 1 was actually able to get the lead in the 3rd I think but they just didn't have enough offense to fend off Pho, gm 2-4 SA got off to BIG leads but once again they were unable to hold the lead. I think we can, SA didn't really have that "guy" to stop scroring droughts, sure Parker/Manu got here and there but they settled for jumpers. I think if we can get off to big leads we can hold it.
