I'll be optimistic and predict he'll be a 10-12 ppg (40-50%FG) 5-8 rpg PF in his role.

Re: Mike D assigns Jordan Hill as stretch 4
Too many people take the word "stretch" way too far. It doesn't mean Hill will be bombing 20 footers, more like that 12-15 footer that will pull away the other big checking him. If he hits it at a consistent clip we should be ok.
And if word is true that Kurt will persuade MDA to use some Triangle, then Hill will most likely have to work on that shot and hit it in games like Horace Grant did for the Lakers and Bulls.

Re: Mike D assigns Jordan Hill as stretch 4
i was opposed to gasol being demoted to the perimeter because his utility is best maximized in the post, i mean he is one of the best low post players in the world
but jordan hill has limited utility in the post regardless, so in order to allow gasol to flourish in the post hill extending his range, or at least attempting to do so, is beneficial
this whole square peg round hole thing would matter if said square peg wasnt some **** tier, 2 cent hooker of a square peg

Agreed. I seriously doubt he's going to be launches 3-pointers left and right. He just needs a consistent mid-range jumper like Haslem, or Grant as you mentioned.

according to espn/truehoop, david lee, who hasn't been a great mid range shooter in his career, probably a little worse than pau, has been using the offseason to focus on developing a 3 point shot. according to truehoops numbers, this is because in the playoffs the w's success was due to having barnes playing pf able to spread the floor once lee got hurt and out of the way.
pf's that spread the floor are the way the league is going, its obvious. the new defensive zone rules that are now being exploited to their fullest require this.

This. Guys, this is a non-story in the middle of the summer and it's used as a way to bash Hill and MDA? You guys are too easy. No wonder ESPN can afford an LA office.

I have a feeling K Love isn't going to want to play for Rambis.

Did you ever think Bynum would play for Mike Brown again?

Jordan Hill will be in an All Star David Lee status this year. I can feel it.

You don't max a guy who is made of glass and who stat pads his way to losses. He and Rambis butted heads over that rebounding, Love would just ignore team or man D to pad his count and Rambis benched him for it more than once. Love isn't a max player in this league, not in body or impact, he's no superstar.

i thought he was overrated too. But he gets his numbers very easily which is considered a skill. I think Klove is a great player , just not a superstar level player just yet.kblo247 wrote:TyCobb wrote:All in for K Love.

Re: Mike D assigns Jordan Hill as stretch 4
I think he's an all star and a second or third option much in the vein of Bosh. He would help a team if he sacrificed his numbers and individual glory. The Love who has played so far in this league isn't a max guy or superstar. He gets hurt a lot, his numbers don't lead to wins, he can't play D, and he whines a bit much. For some team in a Bosh role, like say if we had Kobe, Pau, and Melo, he would likely fit in at the 4 and be well received. But the stat stuffer Love isn't winning games because of how he stuffs those stats even today are largely what he and Rambis butted heads about still.

The Wolves organization are not the most competent bunch. I'd take everything that happens in Minnesota with a grain of salt.

Re: Mike D assigns Jordan Hill as stretch 4
Rambis has to take the blame for the Wolves failures in Minny. And Kahn of course. He had Rambis come in and institute a system that was very complex, and which relied on 3 initiators who were good at passing and creating their own offence. The system was a horrible fit for the skill sets of the (young) players, and Rambis deserves blame for not knowing that and adjusting. In that sense, he did there what Mike D is doing over here now.
I don't say the Wolves were a good team, but they were nowhere near as bad as Rambis made them play.
