Getting Beas also fits with reports of wanting to develop Kelly and Clarkson into a full time position, which may mean Dfenders

Basically, Beasley's best year was almost twice as good as Wes's best.

Beasley is 25, has averaged 13 & 5 on 45% shooting. He posted a PER of 15+ four times, has a career mark of 15.1.

Wesley is 27, has averaged 8 and 3 on 41% shooting. He posted a PER above 11 ZERO times, has a career mark of 10.0.

He had one kinda sorta decent season with Minni didn't he almost avg 19 a night one season? It'll be fun to see how Kobe treats him.

Yeah figured it was something like that I just think he got stuck on a couple young bad teams and really didn't get a lot of rope in MIA to try and make a impact

Can't wait for a lin/young/beasley/kelly/boozer lineup...

I wish we were looking at guys who can defend to fill out our roster... I mean, I like Beasley for the minimum, but just not with the way our roster looks. We should be looking for a defensive stopper at backup pg like Toney Douglas. Or a specialist with size at sf like metta or caron (i prefer metta cause he wouldn't throw a fit if he was out of the rotation). Or maybe just a real huge raw center that our amazing training staff could whip into shape... Fesenko or Aaron Gray anyone?

Beasley for the vet min to start at SF would be great! Can't depend on Johnson and Henry (truly an SG only). This would be a huge opportunity he couldn't afford to f-up. Kobe will keep him in check, so will Scott and other Showtime vets.

To me hes a waste of a roster spot. Sure he can play, but I'd rather scour the D-League for the guy who might be slightly less physically gifted, but with the motivation to succeed.

If X gets hurt like always, Nash foes down, and Wes disappears .... what's the backup plan besides over extend Kobe and Nick to cover the 1 and 3?

I rather have a talent like Beasley in case we need it with the roster concerns that are X and Nash health

We don't have a lot of talent to begin with, if those guys all go down again, we might as well start calling WNBA players just for yucks...

I'd rather give that playing time to a prospect with potential than Beasley, who's **** away whatever potential he's had...

I'm down with it. At the minimum it's something we should consider. If Ron Artest calmed down when he was on the Lakers (sort of), I'm sure Beasley won't screw things up that much.

Dang, didn't realize he's only 25! Not bad!

He doesn't really have a quickness, but he is effective using his body to protect the ball and get in the paint and then shoot on the dribble. I don't know about his defense but if it is bad then B Scott will take care of it, whether it is keeping him on the floor or not.

watching this, i can't help but feel he would've completely killed it in the triangle

sign him up mitch

we'd be getting at least jabari parker production out of this guy (per 36), in a body that's known the NBA for 6 years on the vet's mininum for the bench mob

slam dunk.

sure his game isn't going to develop, doesn't take away that for the vet min, that's a steal

This would be a mistake. This guy has no drive. No motivation to excell, which is sad because he has a ton of ability.
Bad move for the Lakers if they sign him.
I'd much rather give those minutes to a young guy like Kelly or Clarkson. AT least, they are trying to get better everyday and have some drive.
Beasley has done nothing but regress in the NBA.

Pass. Id rather sign a non-drafted rookie and actually develop the player for a long-term spot than keep signing these guys who bounce around the league year after year and blow every opportunity.

some of you guys are acting like this is some guy that would ruin the flow of the team? What flow? We're not contending for a championship and even with his issues he'd automatically be one of our better players in all likelihood. This is all about winning as many games as possible and having Beasley play minutes instead of Johnson will probably contribute a little even if not much in that aspect.

The guy had several chances to turn it all around! Especially last year when he joined the heat, it could have been the perfect career reviver for him. No one is gonna change this guy.
