Yes General Manager Brown and Barnes won't be Lakers together at least I dont think so. Unless PJ goes D'antoni on guys like Sasha, Caracter, Ebanks, Walton and totally benches them I don't see how the Lakers can have both those guys on the team.

With Barnes signing we have no money unless he takes min. I don't get why the hell he opted out of his contract? Seems stupid to me. He'll get paid by Chicago though.

We still have Shannon's early bird rights, so we can still pay him up to the MLE if we choose to do so. However, the two signings today plus Ebanks and Caracter make 13, and I don't see us carrying more than 13. Of course, if the FO feels that we need another guard to backup Kobe, we could always choose to bring back Shannon, but that's unlikely to happen.

i wasn't sure if him opting out of the LLE voided that or not.


I see us picking up another center (DJ?) if anything for a 14th. With Vujacic floating in the "G" position we are good back court wise barring any injuries.
