KEY POINT!!

"Time Warner Cable does have its own bills to pay – specifically to the Lakers in the form of $4 billion over the next 20 years (or $5 billion if the option for five more years is exercised)."

This is the main point why I wasnt that worried about the LAKERs ability to pay top dollar for players.

Please help. I'm going crazy here.

You should be good to go. The League Pass will have all the teams available. IIRC, league pass out of towners will either get Time Warners new feed or the team they are playing. It shouldn't effect you.

Thank you sir!!! 'Cause I was finda pack up and move to LA!!!

Dish has no choice, they can't act like dick weeds about this. It's either they pay for the feed or lose millions of customers, same goes for Direct TV and all the others. TWC has all the control and leverage.

Charter Cable is a bit smaller in comparison to TWC and Direct TV, hopefully they're able to come to an agreement. TWC isn't even available for my area, and from what I've heard it's terrible.

All of the local cable company's should have the Lakers network unless they want to have most of their customers rise up against them and leave.

eh, TWC has some pressure on them too. right now they're asking for 3.95 per household to have their two networks, would make em the highest costing regional sports network in the country. if directtv, dish, and others refuse to pay that high of price (and over the past yr we've seen enough to believe they are perfectly happy playing hardball), TWC is going to be dying a slow death til they lower their asking price. for how much they paid for the lakers tv rights, they can't afford to have directv/dish/att uverse not pay to carry the network.

anywhoo, guess thats why theres negotiation, everyone thinks the other will blink first.

I heard on mason and Ireland that they're working on a deal for all providers. But deals like that usually go down to the wire, but it will be available come the start of the season.

Plus, I think there's too much advertising money on the table for these other providers to try to jostle with TWC over price.

We all know how high their ratings will be, especially with all the hype surrounding the team.

Cool just a month away. Hope it will be available to all, not just to Time Warner. Lakers need to be seen by all. My family has direct TV. They are Laker fans from the 1960's.

If whatever provider you pay for buys the TWC Laker channel then you'll see it. If they try to act like dicks thinking they can get over on TWC then you won't have it.

But in reality I think the other providers know they can't stiff their customers knowing those customers are Laker fans. They have no choice but to open up and shell out the dough or lose it's customers.

My aunt is 73 and watches every Laker game. She got a new 50 inch flat screen due to her eyes are not what they used to be. She sits there with her Kobe jersey and roots the team on. She said she would not have any problems dumping her provider to get the Lakers games. So fans will do what they need to do to get the games. Hope the cable systems know this and man up and get the games on most systems.
