I always wanted either Adelman or Shaw to be our coach not really looking for Brown too but I'll deal with it seeing him on the sidelines.

What a joy the Mike Brown offense would be to watch.

Why can't you just tell us the name of the agent?

No. All it means is that the Lakers won't be returning to the Finals any time soon.

All our beat writers are clueless while Woj breaks the news. The guy is the most connected man in NBA.

I think the Lakers offense will be ok because in Cleveland it was really just Lebron in LA you got Pau, Kobe, Bynum, Odom. The Cavs didn't have players of that caliber around Lebron.

David Aldridge just tweeted the Lakers coaching search down to Brown, Adelman, and Shaw. He also said the team is holding a hard line on salary whoever excepts between those 3 will be the coach.

I am close to those who work for the agent of Mike Brown (also D'antoni, Carlisle, etc - created Vegas Summer League) (read more here viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1112419) and just got word that he will take the Lakers job and inform other teams tomorrow.

Looks like Mike Brown will be your new coach.

Just wanna spread the word but I expect to be flamed but check my credibility if you care enough.

Thoughts?

Spewed lie......Doc hasn't even said when they'll name a coach and they certainly haven't mentioned who it is. Brown isn't getting this job.......I'm in with somebody on this side.

The Woj article is baseless, not one actual quote other than one from a "friend" of Brown's. I much rather think Bres and BT are more in the know than a guy on the damn east coast. The Woj article is co written with Marc Spears who use to write for the Times. Basically it's garbage.

Mike Brown is a heck of a coach. I hate to see him have to fill the shoes of a living legend like Coach Jackson but I think it' would be a good fit. The focus on defense will be good for the team. The big question will be what happens offensively.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

Thats how Woj breaks his news though. He doesn't quote anybody and a majority of the time he is right on the money. I would much rather trust a Woj rumor to be true than that of anyone else.

Nothing happens offensively, the Cavs offense was so typical especially in the closing minutes of games. The simple 1-4 Spread was so high school like. It's a horrible hire if it happens, I don't don't think anybody here wants Mike Brown.

The scene of him being ignored by his team as assistants talked in a key playoff game resonates here in LA, and was laughing stock material on this and every board on this forum.

The Lakers know what Mike Brown wants to take job -- four years, $4M-plus per, sources say --- and sides expect a resolution on Wednesday.

The guy has been wrong before too.......way wrong in a lot of cases I remember. Like I said I don't think Bres and BT are that much out the loop on this, it would be bad for the Times credibility.

The Aldridge article thats up on nba.com right now says that the Lakers may keep Shaw around for the offense.
