Giving the masses rope.

Also buys him time. Shows that he is self-aware, not planning on going Dolan on us for 15 years before getting legit help.

rope? The so called masses have him already strung for little reason at all, some of it his own father's decisions.

Media puts too much pressure on Jimmy, I think he's seriously going to do this.

The waters should be calmed a bit if we make the right coaching hire.

This season should go down as the low point, but you never know.

I actually think this shows he's going to swing for fences before he parts ways. If he's actually going to do it. Maybe spend a little bit of cash on a coach this time.

I thought that was the Dwight trade.

Do we really have to wait 4 years?

Time Warner and their partners don't want to wait 4 years.

Lakers need a face. Like Magic, Phil is gone, Jerry West is a Warrior consultant.

Mitch well he is not a Big time face who can close.

The Lakers need a closer. Even Pat Riley had trouble this year.

I believe Magic is a closer

Meh. Words are easily forgotten in this league. It seems like yesterday, Lebron has left CLE and Dan Gilbert wrote that letter and now everyone's cool with it. Whatever happened to "Cavs will get a championship before the self-proclaim king does."? Words don't hold much meaning anymore in this day and age.

Coaching can only go so far without talent. We don't really have a roster equipped to compete with the more stacked rosters in the conference. Scott is a decent coach, but he won't turn the tide.

I'm positive Time Warner Cable is ecstatic with the acquisition of Jeremy Lin.

4 years is a life cycle in today's CBA. If you can't turn something around in 4 years, you never will.

Jim's done a lot already to turn things around. I mean he did get a late first round pick from the rockets. #dynasty

Even the great Jerry Buss took a while to rebuild after show time got to old or Kobe and Shaq mess after 04, even though they had a young franchise player on board. Jim Buss gets abused by the media and the fans. David Stern nixed the CP3 deal along the way. I'm not on Jim Buss throat as much as some of you. I know it isn't easy to rebuild especially with the new CBA.

Well giving Kobe a 50mil contract extension doesn't exactly expedite the process.

It looks like at least two seasons will go by without the Lakers contending, and possibly not making the playoffs

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
