Official Lottery Talk - Tank Complete...And Now We Wait

Post#1 » by Penberthy » Wed Nov 19, 2014 4:59 pm

Do you think we will get it?

1. 76ers
2. Twolves
3. Celtics
4. Knicks
5. Pistons
6. Hornets

Last Year's top 5 had 15, 19, 23, 25, and 25 wins each.

76ers, T'Wolves, Pacers, Cetlics, Lakers, Knicks... I don't know. It'll be tough to get Top 5 pick.

I don't think we end up with a top 5 worst record. Eventually were going to string a few wins. Its going to be based on luck with those balls.

I think indy could be one of those sub 500 playoff teams in the east. Hibbert West and Scola don't have much competition out there. Plus Stuckey has been out all year so far, due back today.

We need to play the East less. Wins are irrelevant and are for bs glory and pride. Whoever we get in the Top 5 will be a risk, but it's better than getting crusty FA bust after bust.

The more I think about the more I go to the trade Kobe side. NY would take him and we could get some assets back. Plus we would suck even more and that would guarantee a top 5. Plus we would have about 55mil or so cap space with all the rookie contracts in place.
Randle
Clarkson
Kelley
Sacre
Top 5
Houstons top pick
2nd round (high Pick)
Any asset from NY

Top free agents
Gasol 18mil
Rondo 15mil
Love? Aldridge? 20mil

Not a bad situation!

Knicks would be so much better off if they just hit the summer with a top 5 pick of their own and a bunch of cap to go with it. Melo, top pick, and a great shot at one of those free agents is possible and they don't have to make any moves to make it happen.

If Lin plays like the last game every game and Ed Davis starts, there'd be no chance. If he plays like 2 and 3 games ago all the times and Ed Davis doesn't start, it'd be no problem.

1) it's not a competition.
2) Lakers seem to be getting better w/ Young's return. He might get hot and keep us from a top 5 pick. Just like he did last year. I really wanted Embid.
3) Wolves & 76ers tanking hard. Neither team deserves anymore top picks. They have more than their fair share. They need to develop all the lotto picks they already have. The 76ers are addicted to the lottery looking for the next big thing instead of developing talent.

Knicks will improve. Hornets will improve. They play in the easy East. Pacers are in the same boat we are in. They are trying to give P George the David Robinson gift. Our rivals the Celtics are definitely tanking hard. I would put our odds at a top 5 pick at 50/50 because I think our Lakers are improving rapidly. Hill doesn't want to lose his job to Oak. Our roster is starting to play hard.

We got dis.

Hornets will end up with a much better record than us and the Knicks will get better. Indy and Boston are actually playing passable basketball, I wouldn't be surprised if Indy ended up .500 and Boston won 33+ games.

Don't sleep on Utah's tank. There's some formidable suck there outside of Hayward.

If we win 1 out of 4 of the remaining games we finish with 20 wins total (3 spot last year)
If we win 1 out of 3 of the remaining games we finish with 26 wins (just a hair outside of the 5 spot last year)

We have shown to be good enough to go 1 out of 10! We should be fine.

The 76ers are so bad. Then you have about 7-8 teams that are around the same level including the Lakers. Celtics, Magic, Bucks (they had a decent start but they'll come back down), Jazz, Nuggets, Lakers, Pistons, and Min.

To be clear, this is not a criticism or a knock to Laker fans wanting to tank, as it is already an accepted method of getting talent throught the draft.

But noting that a lot of Tank promoters are regular posters especially during the games, do you guys want to the team to win while watching or are you guys rooting for the other team to win?

Lose Lose Lose.

All about the big picture for me. Kobe, Ed, and Swaggy are the only real Lakers to me right now. The rest of these bums are temps.

I do root for Kobe to not shoot 30% so I don't have to read silly GB/PC-Board hate but that's much lower on the totem pole of importance for me.
