i'd rather build for future after kobe retires, we aren't building a contender with that contract and i'd rather not salvage our future picks just to make first or second round exits the next couple of years.

Why should we give Minny any draft picks as K Love will be a free agent...

There are no guarantees... If we can grabs Rondo for our Houston pick & Nash than do it... Learn from your mistakes... Let's get a piece NOW & make a run or TANK & keep our top 5 pick... Rondo would make Hill & Davis look even better than they do now... Rondo at PG with Kobe & Young on wings would be fun to watch...

I just hope Mitch and Jimmy make a damn choice and go in a direction. Getting tired of punting as if it's our only course.

Two decades later, in 2016, we will again have a grand offseason. I can't think of an agent who wouldn't direct his superstar to a Kobe-less Lakers organization, with a treasure chest of cap-space available.

Not a fan of giving up our two first rounders for him when he's going to be a free agent after this season.

Rondo could very much struggle with Kobe at times as the ball will be out of his hands a lot more than in Boston but it's his defense that would really be appreciated.

Kobe has been admiring Raj forever.
Rondo is a triple machine and a big threat on the defensive end.

The Lakers arent into developing picks.

Well that's their job to ask... But I'd stop being a Laker fan if they traded Randle for Rondo.

Rondo's going to be a FA... The Celtics are not going to get any young promising prospects for him. I think the best they could hope for would be some not so desirable draft pics, some role players, and cap flexibility. Or some combination...

No team is going to leverage any significant portion of their future, for a short term rental of Rajon Rondo.

Rondo would lock the Lakers in purgatory. He is overrated and he will want to get paid because he never received that huge contract. He has the injury big. Just say no LA. Let the Celtics keep him.

They really are... That said, there is absolutely no reason to trade for a player like Rondo right now. Let this season drop dead, wipe the slate clean, and start over next season.

It wasn't even his god damn role,by all accounts Nash was earning that role in his old ass age in their practices over him. Hell so was price until he hurt his knee to end the preseason. He got the role not by earning it but by attrition.

He should be our second best guy but I'd say Nuck, hill, and even. Boozer are more consistent night to night.

See this is how it starts.. trust me I've seen it three times. Now you're there pissed at Lin for something he didn't say about something that didn't happen.

If you're not getting a top 5 pick, which we aren't, go ahead and trade for a Rondo and start the recruitment process in January as opposed to June.

Get his bird rights, keep the bird rights of Lin and Hill so you have sign and trade options or can retain them discounted, and use bird rights and your relationship to talk to them about sticking around being Lin and Hill (both of whim are overpaid) while recruiting Marc and to a lesser degree Monroe/Al. It would be so much easier to make a summer pitch so someone if you have a guy like rondo on your team and he was somewhat happy after 4 months or so of being there and treated well alongside Kobe. I know a free agent C which is what the market is rich of (Marc, Aldridge, Jordan, Hubbert, Jefferson, and Monroe) would likely say Rondo, Kobe, Swaggy, Randle, Hill, and Lin is a solid enough core to make me sign on, specifically Monroe and Jefferson whose teams are so flawed.

Moving Nash, the Houston pick, Clarkson and Kelly as prospects for rondo is smarter than having nothing and hoping to make a colloquial pitch out your ass for Rondo/Dragic this summer and one of the big men free agents. This isn't Jerry Buss team right now, all we have to pitch is Kobe, Swaggy, and money which will be taxed more here than anywhere else to guys. We have to play chess over checkers like we have been playing for years now. If you can get Rondo, Dragic, Monroe, Al, or the like right now for Nash, Houston's pick, and Kelly/Clarkson/Sacre to make up us not having future picks do it. Do it and put your best foot forward with the guy coming in and try to gain some momentum. Even if we don't make the playoffs after getting rondo, playing Rondo, Kobe, Wes, Booz, Hill, Lin, Swaggy, and Ed with some Wayne and price to make a run at 500 may be enough. From there you have had a core who built momentum, gelled, a star piece you can say we want to build around, a Kobe who obviously has some gas, and the prospect of a Randle return to make a free agent C say I could be the piece that sets them over the top from a playoff contender to title contender.

We can't stand pat like last year and watch Hill and/or Lin walk for nothing with our dick in our hand like with Pau

Pairing up a pass first ball dominant PG that can't shoot with the most ball dominant player in the league. Yeah that on court chemistry is going to be great....... And even if we are looking after next year Rondo will already be 30,and well past his best years, so no thanks.

You won't even get the next great PG to their damn near 30 with rfa anyhow, so that's not something that matters. And again it wasn't kobe bitching about nash or sessions or payton it was the other guys as he was happy just eating and efficient to boot. Everytime we get a PF it's the others bitching hat results in kobe getting the ball and feeding them as the main facilitator. And no Lin isn't a PG unless it's around scrubs

We need culture ... I rather have an **** proven championship PG than a nice guy who may learn what it takes
