NO more predictions should be allowed as it's not fair lol - those who didn't pic Russell as #2 (ME) are out of the running for the correct predictions :)

Good luck to those who selected Russell and still in the running:)

DeAndre Jordan/Robert Upshaw/Tariq Black
Julius Randle/Ryan Kelly/Larry Nance Jr
Kobe Bryant/Omri Casspi/Wesley Johnson
D'Angelo Russell/Nick Young
Jordan Clarkson/Kendall Marshall

Maybe not a prediction, more a slightly realistic version of how i want F.A to go. I would love it if we get DMC for Randle, Clarkson, Nance Jr but it ain't likely. So Jordan is the best fit with Randle and gives us one of the best defenders who is one of the best rebounders also. Only issue is he is a rubbish offensive player (i mean, how can a player be that bad at Free throws) but at least hes athletic. Also Randle develops nicely as our main offensive threat in the post whilst it is fair to say, most of the offense will come from Kobe and Russell with Clarkson also getting a fair bit of points.

Omri off the bench is more for a 3pt shooter and an efficient one at that (unlike Swaggy P) at P.G i like Marshall, he is a good passer of the ball and is young, he did really well with us and would love him to come back and make contributions off our bench again. I honestly think Upshaw is going to be our backup next season, if for no other reason, Black isn't a backup quality player and Sacre isn't even worthy of an nba spot and should stick to cheerleading

I disagree. I think that Roy Hibbert is the guy worth taking a chance on. His 1 year deal definitely beats any long-term commitment even to say Ed Davis who would seek a multiple year deal. You're looking for a guy that can rebound at a decent rate, anchor the paint, and make a smaller defender pay. Hibbert can do that. I doubt he'll cost that much in a trade. No one is going to give a first rounder for him at that salary and few teams can absorb that. The Lakers on the other hand can fit that salary nicely if Lamarcus Aldridge falls through.

i'd take Bynum back before i would want us to absorb Hibbert in all honesty.

Yup, even discounting whatever he can give us in terms of his past production, I like the one year deal and he can be a big body to play D behind this young roster for a year. And getting him does nothing to our cap next year, which is probably my main point of getting him.

Russell/Buycks
Jordan/young/brown/blue
Kobe/Wesley Johnson
Aldridge/Randle/Nance/Kelly
Robin Lopez/Upshaw/Black

....if no go on Aldrige, maybe swap Robin for Brook Lopez. If no go on Brook and Aldrige, bring Davis back at PF

Russell/Buycks
Jordan/young/brown/blue
Kobe/Wesley Johnson
Randle/Boozer/Nance/Kelly
Brook Lopez/Upshaw/black

or

Russell/Buycks
Jordan/young/brown/blue
Kobe/Wesley Johnson
Randle/Davis/Nance/Kelly
Robin Lopez/Upshaw/black

Not so dominant unless that squad could exceed expectations in the west. But it's a possible roster. A trade for Melo might also be possible.
“If this is his team, that means no more coming into camp fat/out of shape, no more blaming others for our team’s failure, my team doesn’t mean only when we win it means carrying the burden of defeat just as gracefully as you carry a championship trophy.”

Post draft prediction:

PG. D'Angelo Russell/Jameer Nelson/Dwight Buycks
SG. Jordan Clarkson/Wayne Ellington/Jabari Brown
SF. Kobe Bryant/Nick Young/Anthony Brown
PF. Julius Randle/Ryan Kelly/Larry Nance Jr.
C. LaMarcus Aldridge/Tarik Black/Robert Sacre

Most realistic lineup I could think of with draft picks and players already signed to contracts.

Only way we pass on Okafor is if we get a stud big man. And you come up with Kosta Koufos? :banghead:

Well considering the draft is before free agency yes. What big man can we realistically get? Gasol been reported of staying in Memphis. Aldridge been reported we are a distant third. Jordan is said to be considering clippers or Dallas. Monroe been linked to New York. I don't see any big man being linked to LA right now so yes Koufos is who I think is a realistic target for the Lakers.

That's the exact reason why we will get Okafor and not Russell. Anyways, that's your prediction so we are all good.

Kobe system what do you think we do now? If we miss out on Jordan or Aldridge what moves do we make? I'm hoping we can get one of them but I'm not banking on it Koufos wouldn't be too bad.

I am hoping we can nab DeAndre Jordan. I don't think we have a chance with Marc Gasol. In Mitch I trust.

Pointgod wrote:I've been avoiding doing these faux lineups because frankly I think most of them are ridiculous but I think I've found a realistic combination of players that can make us competitive next year: Draft Russell, Upshaw and Christmas, sign Tobias Harris, KJ Mcdaniels and Asik.

PG-Russell/Clarkson
SG-Kobe/Russell/Young
SF-McDaniels/Young/Harris
PF-Harris/Randle/Kelly/Christmas
C-Asik/Christmas/Upshaw/Sacre

Gives us an athletic, versatile line up that can play defense and keep up with the new age small ball line ups. Personally I'd move Nick Young and Kelly and let go of Sacre to create more cap space. This team might be a borderline playoff team, but it makes for a more compelling squad for Durant or Westbrook to join.

Upping this post. This needs to happen. Part of the plan is already coming along.
