sure, why not? we all know LMA isn't likely to make the best decision for his career (i.e., come be a part of the LAL family) but a second interview did occur. despite the speculation that it was just a make up for future reference, there is still a chance <insert dumb and dumber meme here> that he will make the correct decision.

A second interview where we apparently failed to impress him again.

It's not easy to impress someone and sway them when they already kind of know what their going to do.

Its weird. Supposedly the info that they didn't impress came from the Lakers. So why are we waiting?

I don't think we have other option. Russell/Kobe/Harris/Randle/Hibbert is a decent team.

EDIT: Too late

Bobby Marks: So here is your LaMarcus Aldridge cheat sheet going into Day 4 of FA: POR: Full Bird Rights. Can sign up to the max salary. 5yrs and most $. PHX: Would need to trade Mk. Morris and PJ Tucker to get to that $18.8m slot for Aldridge. Alex Len would be close but not sure you move him. SAS: TD would have to come in around $6m. Renounce Manu and sign for Room ML, Waive Reggie Williams. That will get you to $18.8m. But do not count out HOU in all of this. If LA really wants to go to HOU, the Rockets have the players to possibly make that work.

Best case for you Lakers fans is that LA chooses Phoenix and you can jump in there and grab some assets/players.

How does Houston sign him after resigning Beverly and Brewer? I'd gladly be a Phoenix salary dumpster for 2 first round picks.

Yea, I'm trying to figure that out too. Anyone out there who knows the cap rules?

Let me start by saying Kobe is my all time favorite player. But at this point, it's not about him anymore. We should focus on youth rather than washed up names.

Kobe signed a deal that takes up nearly 50% of the cap space, so I don't feel bad for him that we aren't able to field a competitive roster due to his contract.

It's time to put the Lakers first, I'm tired of hearing "let's sign player X for Kobe's last season". The focus should now be bring in guys who can compliment these young guys we have. We have a lot of young athletes who can run and play hard. I would hate to bring in a bunch of slow plodding, ball stopping vets who are years past their prime. Surround Russell with dudes who play hard, defend, finish, and shoot.

Joe Johnson is serviceable and is still a good player. It is actually a good idea to surround these young guys with proven vets to learn from. Besides its just for 1 season, not a long term situation.

Just tweeted he's joining the Spurs. Pretty sure it's legit.
