Sounds like a project. Hopefully we can sign him and let him develop in the d-league. Even if he's a year or two away, he's worth taking the risk.

If the Lakers don't offer Upshaw a contract, I'm sure another team will.

Cuban should be going to Upshaw's home and calling him when he gets to the front lawn after seeing those highlights of the Summer League game. Upshaw playing solid defense on the #1 pick. Made Towns look silly.

i'd rather have upshaw learn defense from hibbert who's one of the elite centers. he can learn offense from kaj, but hibbert is a must.

With the partial guarantee for year one and non guarantee for year two, it's still not a sure thing that he makes the roster. Can't imagine the team will carry four centers in Hibbert, Sacre, Black, and Upshaw. That along with pf's Randle, bass. nance, and Kelly means one of those bigs isn't going to make the roster.

Personally I just want Kelly and sacre to get told to pack their bags, but it'll probably come down to what the team sees in training camp between sacre, black, upshaw and probably Kelly too.

Now it makes sense why Lakers didnt draft a center, they engineered his stock to fall out of the draft so they can sign him after. Even though he had a troubled past there were teams that wanted him late first to second round till it was said he had a heart problem during workouts then his stock fell hard. I had a feeling something was shady about that
