Byron don't have the balls to say it how Nick said it.

Kobe's post game comments are truly sad. He just stated that he could've scored 80 and it wouldn't have made a difference tonight and he could be averaging 35 a night and they'd still be like 3-11, yet he's out there gunning like if that's what's best for the team.

Head scratching lack of awareness.

I don't like these quotes from Kobe about demanding the ball more and making sure his teammates get him easier shots when he's calling for the ball everytime the ball handler crosses half court

Kobe's comments seem like a cop-out to me, essentially he's saying "I can still score and dominate but I'm choosing not to right now". He was bad last year but he wasn't THIS bad. Really hope he figures it out soon, it's going to take a self-realization since BScott is equally out of touch.

Hahaha "I could've scored 80 tonight it wouldn't have made a damn difference"... Okay.

Why don't we start 5, or 6 and we can talk about 80 later

His comments sound like he couldn't care less about development of the young guys as long as he gets his

no.. his comment means that the warriors are so good that even if he went for 80 they would have lost. that is a comment on how good they are, not on how he can still do 80.......
spens is right its time for someone now to fire scott, sorry

It's never going to happen, because a 19 year old would never do this to a 37 y/o legend, but I wish that Russell would blow up at Kobe during a game and tell him to stop jacking up shots.

Byron Scott would probably exile Russell to the D-League after that

I get the Byron Scott hate, but I think you should keep him for the season and then find a good coach in the offseason. Let your new coach get a full training camp/summer league/preseason before their first regular season game. It makes a difference. It's fairer to the new coach.

One could argue that the rest of the season is no more than a training camp and its longer with real game time to practice and learn from.

True. I guess the other issue is that I feel you are more likely to get a good coach to come onboard if the job starts in the offseason.

If you really really need Scott gone in the meantime, promote an assistant to interim coach and make it clear to them that they probabyl aren't the HC next season.

Of course, if you can get a good coach to agree to come now, then absolutely go for it.

Yeah that's common sense but I don't think anyone who's contracted now could become available in the offseason either.

On the other hand, if we are looking at college coaches like Ollie or Sean Miller, yes they just started their seasons and won't move right now so its better to wait. If we look at assistants like Luke Walton, Messina or Ron Adams, they would prefer to wait till the offseason until the whole Kobe show is over before deciding to come onboard.

The existing alternative in-house is Mark Madsen, I've seen him coach summer league and he is even more restrictive than Scott to the extent of calling out every play on every possession. Plus he was probably cleaning Kobe's sneakers during his playing career so Kobe would have a field day with him.

I'd rather not look at someone like Scotty Brooks, Vinny Del Negro et al which would be scraping the bottom of the barrel. Not a fan of Thibs either.

Before moving the coach, the first most logical thing to do is to move the veterans who are not really providing a great example. Find a way to get some value for Lou & Bass, cut Nick Young and divert the minutes to existing players or call up Anthony Brown and bring back Upshaw from D-League. Those people can get better with reps and playing time. Others, not so much.

Our schedule next month is absolutely brutal, outside of @Phi and maybe @Min, I don't see us favored to win any game. I think by the end of the year when we're 4-29 (maybe even before then) there will without a doubt be a need to throw BScott to the wolves and install Madsen as the interim head coach.

I thought we hit rock bottom last year but apparently there's still more room to fall.
