Re: Thank you, Kobe.
Couldn't have scripted it better. In this ignoble season, during the last few years of being a punching bag for the upstarts, tonight was his, one more night of pure Kobe. It is unquestionably the end. But he went out guns blazing.
Over his career, he could have done this, he could have done that. He could have done things differently. He could have had more success.
Like any good story, he's faced adversity. Through the challenges and conflicts, as a person he changed, evolved, grew. But his basketball? The way he saw the game? That stayed the same. It was like faith, the one thing he truly believed was his idea of the game, and his role in it. He was that lonely kid pounding the rock in Italy, an outcast, dreaming of hitting last second shots, of getting all the glory. And that's how he went out.
Hero ball in, hero ball out. One thing you can say about him: he did it his way. Nobody can take that away from him.
God bless him. It's been a hell of a ride.

It was 3 years ago today Kobe had his surgery for his torn achilles

Re: Thank you, Kobe.
This is going to sound really corny and dumb but the guy has been a genuine inspiration. You read articles about his teammates getting to the gym early to work out at 6 am and see Kobe already done. Then dude goes to drop off his daughters at school and gets in one more workout in the afternoon. Then does one more at night, while still making time for film. It makes you think, dude makes millions a year and he's more driven Than anyone I know in any profession. It's going to sound corny but when going through my current situation of being unemployed for 6 months it's something for me to look up to and not give up, keep applying, trying to add to my skill set etc...
Warspite:
Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

Like one of our fans said in GB, He is the best basketball player ever excluding Michael Jordan.
Words are not sufficient to thank you Kobe. Still, Thank you for everything.

Probably, they criticized the number of shots he has taken, did they? He has been criticized for that during his whole career, by those idiots never bothered themselves to have a look at his field goal percentage.

Re: Thank you, Kobe.
I was 8 years old when Kobe came into the league. Pretty much at the point in my life where I coherently started following and understanding the game. I vaguely remember watching the Rockets/Magic Finals in 94, but 96 was the year it started for me.
Here I am at 28 today and it's the first day that I can remember where Kobe isn't a player in the league. It's literally a new chapter of my life, and for the majority of us Lakers fans (unless your Deep who has probably lived through the civil war) uncharted waters that I'm not sure I want to maneuver considering who is apart of the organization.

If you want a laugh just go to the Wednesday game thread and just read through it from the start. Kobe haters out in force til he goes vintage mamba on them lol, then they get real quite.

As a 90s baby. He was our Michael Jordan but who would've thought he'd drop 60?.. only Kobe man. And it was truly an end of an era, thank you Kobe!

Hey Lakers fans, I know you're in your own world right now and probably don't care about a Celtics fan's two cents, but last night's game really stuck with me and I had to write something about it here: https://adamreport.com/60-and-73-6643c2702327#.rvnr6lccr
