This is interesting. Our second unit would look something like

JC
Lou
Zubac
Randle
Black

Can Randle play SF?

defensively maybe.. But the offensive spacing would be prett bad ... Btw am I the only person who thinks Randle is an okay man to man defender? Was watching the Olympic practices and he's the only guy who shut down Jimmy Butler

D'angelo/Ingram/Deng/Randle/Mozgov

If we want to maximize our talent and build a positive culture towards winning; I like starting Ingram at the 2. I could see him getting 20-24mpg to start the year and working his way up in March and April. If we want to maximize wins we should put an emphasis on defense and creating easy 3pt looks with our rotation. I'm really more interested in our small ball lineups and what we put on the floor at the end of games.

Clarkson would dominate other guards off the bench. D'lo coming off the bench for a good portion of last years games are a big reason his rookie stats look decent. I really don't think D'lo runs an offense well at the moment in terms of being a real point guard, but he may improve with some vet guidance in Calderon and hopefully the system offense makes it a nonissue anyways. I really doubt Calderon having a chance at becoming a starter for us though.

Well, gotta figure Luke is going to emulate the GS model to start off with before he starts really making the team his own, so with that in mind:

DLo
Clarkson
Deng
Randle
Mozgov

with Lou and Nance as first subs, then Ingram for Deng, and the rest will be random for awhile.

End of game:
DLo
Clarkson
Deng
Nance
Randle

I think Luke will probably lock into a fourth quarter line up pretty consistently, and Deng, Nance, and Randle leaves a lot of versatility for switching, great spacing with Nance and Deng, without sacrificing too much in size overall. Depends on how well Nance or Randle can handle other Cs there, but I bet one of them will step up to the challenge.

If Ingram comes out and sets the world on fire, then this is all moot, but that doesn't seem too likely this year. If he does, I'd expect him to supplant Deng in those lineups. Trade veteran savvy and versatility for pure scoring threat.

On paper, it be

Calderon/Lou
Jc/Lou
Brown
Randle
ZUbac/Black

Also, I dont think Luke will have the bench 5 playing together a lot anyways....

Clarkson
Ingram
Randle

after one month

Russell
Clarkson
Ingram
Deng
Randle

All star break

Russell
Clarkson
Ingram
Randle
Zubac

End of the year (probably fighting for our draft pick again)

Russell
Clarkson
Ingram
Randle
Zubac

It all depends on if Brandon and Movgov show anything.

Personally I'd start the year with Mozgov, Nance, Deng, JC and Russell and use Nance as a small ball 5 with Randle at the 4.

Thats a definite lock for a top 3 pick next summer, unless we get screwed in the lottery. Meaning, your boy JC will get drafted over next summer with the stack guard class of 2017.

Beginning of season:
1- Dlo
2- Clarkson
3- Deng
4- Randle
5- Mozzy

Midseason-End, Best Lineup
1-Dlo
2-Clarkson
3-Ingram
4-Deng
5-Mozzy

Deng is most effective as a 4 in this stage of his career. Randle will benefit coming off the bench. Ingram will grow into his role at the 3 and start by the all star break.

I agree with Deng at PF... We need Ingram to play 32 minutes at SF... He needs touches...

Randle is not going to take it too well coming off the bench. If we was upset coming of the bench, in what was relatively is rookie season, why would he except it now?

If he can't accept the role the coaching staff gives him, he shouldn't be on this team. He understands his faults, but if he has an attitude about coming off the bench, he either needs to grow up or we need to get rid of him. I like the way Popovich coaches. He pretty much says, if you can't check your ego at the door, get the hell out.
The second lineup is our best lineup. Randle hasn't proven he can play team ball yet. I'm not saying he can't, but he just hasn't proven it yet. Also, based on what I've been reading from Heat fans, Deng performed at a significantly higher/more efficient level at the 4.

PG - Calderon - Clarkson - Huertas
SG - Russell - Brown
C - Mozgov - Nance - Zubac
PF - Deng - Randle - Black
SF - Young - Ingram

... Just dump Lou Williams. He was a bad signing, and he still is -- horrible fit for what this team needs.

Dude Young will be gone before Lou will everyone knows that. Also I think your starting lineup is mixed up or you just had it bold.

I think Clarkson is going to surprise us with his outside shooting this season. Deng is still a capable outside shooter as well.

Bad fit for sure, but we would get peanuts for him in return plus free agency backup guards were not that good IMO. Lou is easily better than all of them. Wanted the Lakers to get Jerryd Bayless, but I guess his priorities were much different compared to what the Lakers were looking for.
