This is also going to sound weird, but this is exactly why the Lakers need to extend Randle. There is no better time to get him for the cheap, and he's got no where to go but up in terms of his skillset. The best non-rookie/non-max contracts in the league are usually signed this way - sign a guy who might do something for a long, cheap deal.

If he could cut more, he could become a lot more productive in transition. Right now he's scoring mainly owing to his length when getting to the rim.

When you say cheap long contract, how much you talking here?

Magic for some reason loves Randle, says he'll be an all star when he has a right hand... He won't get rid of him...

Seriously. He may have seen lil clip shots or high light reels and thought one thing. Watching the whole game should paint him another picture.

The best way to move Deng or atleast make him a slight bit productive is to play him as a starting pf next season.

No idea why D Lo, Randle, and Clarkson are playing under 30 minutes. Randle, I can understand why. Because he just hardly gave a s**t.

Also no idea why Russell was sat down when he had his jumper going as well as he did.

Great game from Ingram. Love how he abused Manu over and over and was aggressive in doing so.

So you say someone sucks before you want to trade them?

Randle is on vacation already it seems. While we had no business winning this one we should have shown some more effort. Randle is what he is.

The entire youth group is all being pushed to handle the ball and create. This is one of our problems actually IMHO. Guys like Randle need to play their position first then chip in on transition etc. We have too many PG experiments going on it seems.

The composition of the team is not that balanced. We desperately need shooters to open the lane up and I think Randle is the least unique of the players we have. I think you can replace his production for less than it would take to extend him actually. Let Ingram be the unique front court guy who can play the point from time to time.

At least we got this over with. We don't have to wait all day only to see them get abused at night.

Was it me or were we even giving up easy buckets to the Spurs' scrubs? :nonono:

Also, I know we're saying Deng is a PF, but there's a good chance T-Rob might be a better option at PF than him.

But then we have to live with the shame for the rest of the day instead of being able to just go to bed and wake up to a whole new day lol.

I was never the most optimistic in Randle and have basically refrained from critiquing his game most of the season, but hard to imagine even the most optimistic fans not being concerned with how limited he is at so many facets of the game.

You and I could have gotten easy buckets out there today.

At this point, based on effort alone, Robinson may be better than both Deng AND Randle given their minutes. That guy plays like there is no tomorrow because for him in his career that's been the case.

Yeah but saying Randle is an all star after he develops a right hand is a very idiotic thing to say, and no one would agree with Magic...

Fundamentals are nearly impossible to learn at this level. He is the classic "Athlete" who can play basketball type. In certain situations he's good but in most of them he's still lost. The athletic advantage is lost quickly at this level and then you're left with learned skills and what you know.

WTS He has made some progress since early last year. You are right however, not much overall this year other than shooting % and that seems more to do with where he's shooting over general improvement.

or even the end of this season with Randle at the 5. It won't however do any good if he's tossing up bad bricks on wide open 3s.
