GAME 2 - LET'S F'N GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Game starts an hour earlier than Tuesday, thank goodness. Decompressing after these games takes me a couple hours at least. Usually a shot of tequila is required.
Keys To The Game:
1) Screen and Roll D: Stan Van Gundy talked about this a lot on Tuesday. If you're top locking an offensive player, you can't shoot the gap and try to go under the screen. I'd like us to go over the screens and I'd like AD to come up higher to the level of the ball. That's going to leave pocket passes open for Looney (or Draymond) or put us in a tougher position to defensive rebound but guys like LeBron, Rui - whoever is on the weak side has to come down and rebound. The guards have to come down and sandwich rebound. What I'd like to see is the exact same formula that we used against Portland in the bubble against CJ and Dame. Also if Davis shows, he's quick enough to get back to his man to swat away pocket passes, contest at the rim and rebound.
2) Please Make Shots: Can this team make 12-14 3's in a game? Seriously? If Troy Brown is going to defend the way he did last night, I'd rather have Beasley in the game. And most importantly: LeBron - can you make a jump shot or two?
3) Adjust: I'm guessing we'll see a lot more of what worked for the Warriors in the 4th quarter. Curry/Thompson/Poole/Wiggins/Draymond. If that line-up is put on the floor, we need to absolutely punish it. Offensive rebounds, drives to the basket, etc. Rui needs to play more than 11 minutes. He should be playing 25-30 every night.
4) Don't Be Complacent: Just because we already won Game 1, don't f**ing let up. Put the foot on Golden State's neck and step on it.

Let's go into this as being down 0-1. As if Poole made the last 3 pt and won in ot.

Don't bother.
This is a L so I'm not going to get my hopes up.
Sixers lost by 43 to the Celtics after winning game 1, Heat lost to the Knicks, we lost to the Grizz in round one.
There's a combination of factors going on, mainly the away team being satisfied with a split and the home team's desperation, being a must win game for them.
I obviously want to win but I totally expect an L here. And it's still ok if it does happen, we did our job overall.

Never understood the notion of just trying to get the split. The higher seed can just as well steal one game...and then we're back to square one..but in a worse situation as it's only a 3 game series.
I don't think lakers come out lackadaisical in this one.

It won’t matter if AD pulls off another Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde tonight.
Warriors are 6 points favorite, oddsmakers might have seen tendencies from AD before after having a monster game.

I have a feeling we’ll beat them down tonight. Still have us winning the series in five or six no matter win or loss tonight.
First quarter and third quarter is when GSW like to pounce. It’s a PJ thing. Good teams and good coaches dominate in the third. Kerr is a disciple. That’s why I’d love to see us beat them in the third quarter even if we lose tonight. It’ll confuse their mojo going into LA.
Go Lakers!
More Rui, less Brown Jr. More Reaves, less Russell.
Here’s to 2-0!

NBA titles since the merger: LAL 11, CHI 6, SAS 5, BOS 5, GSW 4.

Not a lot of opportunities for this team to win on the road twice but I think the last time they did it was 2001 in San Antonio when Kobe destroyed Duncan and the Spurs.

I think they shot the ball unusually well against freakishly good defense... While I doubt our D will be as tight tonight, I also kind of doubt they shoot light's out again, and I doubt Looney is as much of a beast on the glass...
So I honestly don't know what will happen... If I had to guess, I'd say we come out a little flat and they build a big lead... Then, we spend the next 2 quarters trying to get back in it... If by mid way through the 3rd, we're not in the game, we'll phone it in, and regroup in LA...
But if we are in it from the beginning, we'll try to crush them...

Lets get greedy and not just have fun out there. They lose this game then it's still anyone's series. They win this then it's all but over. GET GREEDY.

I hope so. I'd love to see one of those LeBron games where he goes 6/9 from 3PT land. We need it.

I think your guess about them coming out flat will likely happen… or they hang around then Steph or Klay hit big shots in the end.. I pray we are both wrong.

Lebron off to a good shooting start, good to see. Warriors are getting good looks but theyre from Green and Wiggins. I think you can live with that.
