Vando Extended - 4/48m

Y'all know how I feel about him. But an extension isn't bad from an asset management point of view. We heard there were some teams(Dallas) interested in him this off season. Wonder if the 12m price tag is too high to still keep them interested.

I was surprised by the 2-3 year deals Rob has given out this off season. Hasn't been the Lakers MO for the past 4 years - flexibility, cap space, etc. All this might be a precursor to Lebron leaving and vacating all that cap space. There's no other way Jeanie can afford this.

I like how Lakers been locking up players for Post Bron and when he retires/leave they'll have a tone of $$$ for yet another star player to team up with AD...

Speaking of AD the only contract I don't really like Is AD's contract, not the $$$, not the years, just the fact the final year Is a player option, but It Is, what It Is there.

I mean not knowing how he will play with out Bron or how much time he takes off etc really should be a team option.

I'm not going to lie, I love the deal. I would've preferred $6-8M less total, but I love that we're prioritizing him. He's a really valuable player and it sounds like he's put in a s**t ton of work this off-season.

Russell/Reaves/Vando/LeBron/AD
Reaves/Vando/LeBron/AD/Wood

Any one of those two starting line-ups, I'd be totally happy with.

Hope he sticks around. He is such a unique player. Lonzo Ball unique vision and off ball cuts. He was left out of the sweep. Never even attempted with Rui, Reeves, Davis, LeBron.

That’s needs to change. The Lakers need a huge lineup for the playoffs. Vando can do the Harper Bulls thing if taught. And rebound like crazy. Vando can play more positions than he is being utilized by Ham. Ham gave Walker Vandos role. Vando had to watch it all. He will be ready. He saw the weak points the clearest on the team.
