Back to Back: Kings @ Lakers

Post#1 » by TylersLakers » Wed Nov 15, 2023 11:46 pm

Another game tonight. Have we had 2 days off in between games at all this year?

Keys are simple:

1) Defensive Rebounding
2) Transition D
3) Make Open Shots

Go Lakers!

Agreed. Go Lakers!

And I’d stress a high pressure full and half court man defense all game on Fox, to tire him out by the fourth. Wish Vando were healthy. No easy high PnR or PnP with Fox and Sabonis, please. Chase over the screens D Lo, not below. Crash into Sabonis and run right f#%*¥ng& through him (Kobe through Pao in the World Cup style) when he sets moving screens. Disrupt their two man game and we win. Get physical to get these kids off kilter. They’re weaker than us, smaller than us. Give them hell on our defensive end.

Get this lineup out of here... man Darvin sat on this lineup way too long through that frozen start. We're going to need some bench on this one. would also try going big on them

Down by 21-11 in the first. I have a feeling, no, I’m convinced that we’re winning this game. Watch out, cowbell town. LeBron is going to knock his threes down tonight. That one he took looked locked in.

Down by 20, first quarter. Sticking to it. A few defensive adjustments and it’s a new game.

Tyler, you were on point with the rebounding. That’s adjustment number one. AD just seemed to have realized that he was getting punked by Sabonis. He’s for real. The Queens are for real. Wake up, Lakers. The game has started.

Down by 13 after one. Here we go. If we’re within five or less at halftime, the first quarter will be a faint memory.

AD just can’t have games like this. Offensively, he needs to bring energy and aggressiveness every night. He can’t set a million weak screens and just float around.

Agreed. We know that he doesn't have the stamine to play over 50ish games. So if you are not feeling good, do not play. When he is in that mood, it is harming the team. Hayes, Wood, Rui etc will die for those minutes.

Agreed. You just can’t have games like he had an expect to beat good teams. Sabonis looked like the far better player and that simply can’t happen. You just never know what AD will show up… sometimes you get a top 10 AD and other times you get a top 30ish player. It’s very frustrating to keep having these conversations about AD.

AD looked hungover or high or otherwise spent. Not sure what his effing problem is. Bad game. Sabonis can play. Not like AD doesn’t know that. On the other hand,

If coach is unable to get a creative design offense going which focuses on AD as our number one option, can’t blame AD for not playing like one.

Next to Rondo in NO, AD used to put up 30, 40, 50. I’m not worried about his offensive ability. It’s elite when utilized, and when AD focuses on scoring. He makes the big shots.

LeBron thinks he’s the number one option. So does Reaves. So does D Lo. Rui likes every shot he gets. Same with Prince. Coach needs to focus things into a designed strategy so they can operate more as a team than like five free range chickens. This offense as it currently is designed can only be as effective as our roster is creative.

It sure doesn’t seem like coach is using AD as a focal point of our offense. Ham, call Phil for some triangle actions!

Ham has questionable feel for adjusting in game, as well as adjusting from game to game, taking timely time-outs to stop momentum. I think player relations and competitiveness is his thing. We did have the best defense last year but lost because of poor defense in the playoffs, an inability to adjust the defensive strategy.

I miss PJ.

Another weakness of Ham surfacing is his lack of cognizance failing to notice that AD is just not right that he became such a negative on the floor. That or he simply did not have any backup plans on what to do when AD or Lebron are not playing up to par.
He just don’t seem to trust Rui our there.

Let's trade Ham for Vogel. I heard he is on the hot seat over there as well.
