Round 1 - Denver

Post#1 » by stan francisco » Wed Apr 17, 2024 2:11 pm

I think Charles Barkley is right when he says that if Murray is allowed to be the second best Nugget after Jokić, they will win another championship.

We’ll be out coached so we have to out hustle. Allow AD to play help defense by not assigning him to spot mark Joker. Rui on Joker, please, and five different guys rotating on Murray. Break the drop coverage on KCP as he’s not a good driver. I’d assign Christie substantial minutes guarding Murray.

To force Jokić and Murray to play defense for seven games would probably help our chances. To quickly substitute D Lo for Dinwiddie or Vincent when they score on D Lo would also help.

What do you guys think of our chances? Can Ham out coach Malone?

I’m just glad to face them before we are completely worn out.

Lakers shock the world and take this series. :D
D'Lo finds his 3pt shot while KCP AND MPJ finally bricks their 3's. Vincent plays tough defense on Murray, while James and AD hit key baskets late in the game.
Then again they ran out of gas and lose in the 2nd round :nonono:

positive outlook on being fresh in facing them

who can guard Murray the best? JV, Prince, can. or LeBron? I feel like when lebron guards him, he goes off.

we need a solid defender that can hit open 3s I think JV is our best chance and has to replace reaves to defend against that monster lineup

dangelo can do decently well against KCP....but for for joker, Gordon, MJP, and Murray... we need JV, Rui, LeBron and AD in the line up for potential switches

we need to be aggressive and attach the rim, draw fouls while defending the 3 well.... cut joker from facilitating, sent him the ball

Rui has to be the X factor in this series. If Rui can have an efficient scoring game them we have a good chance. The frontcourt of Rui, AD and Lebron should make the bigs of Denver work extra hard on the defensive end. AD and Bron will be themselves. If Rui can hit those threes and bully his way inside I like our chances.

Defensively, gotta find the guard that can guard Jamal right away. I'd ever try putting Taurean, Max or Cam on him if our guards can't contain him. If DLo could paly a decent D against Jamal I like our chances then. DLo is very smooth offensively and I like it when his shots are falling.

I’s say it’s easily JV but he’s out. Dinwiddie, Christie and Prince would be my choice 1, 2, 3. Gabe is too small for Murray’s jumper but quick enough to stay in front and deny. Reddish is our second best individual wing defender but has Kwame hands on offense. Why not feed Murray a varied dose of all five? Fresh legs on him at all times for seven games, Ham!

Game threads again? Or are they too triggering to the Gen Z-ers?

it's going to come down to dinwiddie or Prince... o e is quicker, one is bigger... maybe quickness is more needed to run out to defend the 3s on switch's/picks

GAME 1
Today in Denver, ABC 8:30 eastern time

Let’s knock them out!

AD, you have something to prove offensively. Force Joker to foul you, make him work.

Let’s go Lakers!

Edit: Lakers in 6

I can't imagine that the Nuggets will make it 12 in a row against us. You gotta think there's a W in there somewhere. I'm gonna take it a step further....I think we get 2 wins. Hopefully the Lakers flew to Denver right after the NO game.

Joker is no joke. He out ran out guards on the break.

Time to earn your money, Ham.

So... he outran our guards and it's Ham's fault? How about he's the best player on the floor by a good margin and he did what best players do?
