Next year we'll have 2 7footers and A 6'10 Odom, all 3 have long arms and will be a force inside. All 3 can grab 10 rebounds on any given night. we already average 108ppg and have 4 legit scoring options.

Melo may be the better player but not for this team.

I agree that this is a bad trade

If we didn't have members who trolled other boards we'd avoid these topics.

This is not neccesary. This is not trolling and it is close to back seat modderating.

You might need to learn what trolling and back seat modderating is before you speak on it.

Last thing we need is a ball-stopper.

I don't think Melo quit, even though he said so...just frustration. Kobe said he didn't quit 2 years ago in phoenix game 7 and we felt like he did. Sometimes players just realize they are defeated from the tip.

You could see that in Melo's play but I wouldn't say quit.

Both Kobe and Phil have talked about that game at length. Do some homework before you make such generalizations.

He may not have quit, even though he said so, but he sure played like crap.
Either way, not good.
Also to compare Kobe and Melo in this way is really short-sighted IMO

Mark my words....Denver would be stupid to trade Anthony! They will not trade him , They will not give him away for expiring contracts, They will not trade him for Odom. If you are able to step back and look at the big picture it's pretty easy to see.

How would you respond if a Denver fan came to our board and proposed a Melo for Kobe trade?

He is thier Kobe and they will not give him away unless they got a Kobe, LeBron type o' player in return.

Melo had a bad few weeks but he is not down! He's going to be one of the faces of the NBA and if Denver gave him away because he got arrested for speeding like i know i do every day then somebody up in Denver needs to loose his job.

So we can all chill out about this non-sense, however in NBA live i got Melo for Odom and filler ;-)

If they add their picks I might be tempted. Melo can become better next to kobe and phil but this is really gambling without picks.

The obsession with statistics. As Laker fans are you sure you watched the 1st round? What was the primary complaint of George Karl. Ball Movement.

Carmelo Anthony as many posters said on the main board 2 weeks ago when i called him overated is Glen Robinson part 2.

Shoot the ball on every single possession and NEVER pass unless he's forced to pass it. It's predictable and made things easier for the Lakers.

Carmelo likes to isolate and go 1 on 1 and never passes.

Im sure someone will bring up his stats, but the dude is a hot dog. I dont want hot dogs on this Laker team.

We are the best passing team in the NBA. Lets keep it that way.

Isolation 1 on 1 basketball gets you knocked out the 1st round. Thats why Carmelo and AI are chilling watching us on tv.

learning the triangle took lamar close to 2years and he finally got it down cold this year with bynum flourishing it was easy for him to accept the fact that he is the 3rd option then bynum got injured and gasol came in which lead to odom being the only player in the nba after the all star break to improve in every stat across the board

can melo be a quick learner? i doubt it, i give guys the benefit of doubt but he's attitude is going to be one of the worst ones since rider's stint.
he is way more marketable then odom thats for sure...
which might be all he needs to be a laker

Nuggets fan here, and it will take more than just Odom to have him... and the thread on the Nuggets board was started by a Lakers fan, and basically every Nuggets fans but the AI homers would reject that deal in no time.

If u want Melo then a deal like this needs to be done:
Bynum + Walton + Coby Karl + Farmer + Odom
for
Melo + Camby.

Gives u:
Camby - Gasol - Melo - Kobe - Fisher

Gives us:
Bynum - Kenyon - Odom - JR - Farmer (AI would opt out).

U guys get improved roster, we get salary relief, and head into rebuild mode.

And yes... Bynum needs to be included in the deal if u want Melo.
