+1

i don't even think the lakers would do odom/vlad/luke for JO.

Are you serious? id do this trade in a heartbeat.

yes im serious. JO makes over 23 mil next yr. u better believe the lakers aren't going to absorb that salary.

Gotta agree with dcash................that trade would kill us financially, plus JO ain't worth it.

Asianiac_24 wrote:How about Raptors' Anthony Parker? He could shoot, and he could defend pretty well. We could get in for pretty cheap price. In the triangle, we don't need a pure PG anyways. Kirk Hinrich is a nice option too, but his contract sucks. It all depends if Buss is willing to spend the cash though. Too bad we passed on Billups, he'd fit PERFECTLY in our offense AND improve our perimeter D tremendously.

with anthony parker the problem is that toronto know he can shoot, defend pretty well and is on a cheap contract for what he does

they're going to be wanting a whole lot for what he offers

concerning hinrich, people always seem to look at the amount of money he's owed, if we're trading for anyone we're probably going to want them for as long as kobe is playing at a high level anyway, its not a matter of saying "Oh that guys got XX mil remaining and LO/ariza is an expiring etc. etc... signs point to us re-signing lamar (if we don't trade him) for a lesser amount over 3-4 years anyway, what's he going to cost in comparison to kirk hinrich??

also need to take into account, that if we're trading for kirk, we're going to be using farmar as bait, what about farmar's extension we don't have to pay for?? i for one quite like kinrich's contract, sure hes there for 4 or 5 years or w/e it is, but he's far from having any negative contract value to the lakers

This trade is a huge step back financially as well as talent wise. I wouldn't want to hurt out transition game even more with a gimpy J O'neal running at his own speed up and down the court.

Plus wasn't there a report that he basically has zero hops left in his legs? Sounds like the second coming of Luke Walton.

O'neal is done.

I can't believe I wanted him on the Lakers prior to the Gasol trade.

That Nicka wrote:I would probably do it... I dont think Buss would though... I know we need a PG/SF but who could we possibly get? Hinrich and Marion come to mind but do Chicago/Miami even want Lamar? I dont think they do.... there arent many realistic possibilities at either option, and if we got an SF we would have to dump one of Luke/Radman which is nearly impossible...

I think our SF position is fine once Luke gets back... We are a lot better with him starting than Radman...

Back to the trade.. JO is better than LO and Mihm doesnt play... And we are already over the cap... so yeah, I'd do it

Ah no being over the luxury tax is worse. the answe is he!! no to this trade. So care to try again.

Horrible deal, Jermaine cant stay healthy. Its like trading odom away for nothing if jo cant stay healthy for us. No thanks, thats not even factoring his ridiculous 23 mill per salary.

How about Marcus Banks? Miami fans aboslutely hate him. Maybe swap Luke Walton for Banks? or Vlad?

yeh, cos im sure miami would jump at the opportunity to:
1. swap banks for vladi, who has the same number of years but higher salary
2. swap banks for luke, who's contract lasts 2 years longer than banks'

Vlad is a better player than Banks IMO, and he actually provides something that Miami could use (shooting). They wont do it for Luke though

To those who think Jermaine is done:

12/14 vs. NO - 37 mins, 19 pts, 7 boards
12/15 vs. NJ - 28 mins, 14 pts, 6 boards, 2 blocks
12/17 vs. DAL - 38 mins, 19 pts, 7 boards, 3 blocks
12/19 vs. OKC - 15 mins, 5 pts, 4 boards, 1 block (entire team stunk that night)
12/20 vs. SA - 37 mins, 24 pts, 10 boards, 1 block
12/22 vs. LAC - 34 mins, 23 pts, 9 boards, 5 blocks
12/26 vs. SAC - 39 mins, 36 pts, 9 boards, 2 blocks
12/27 vs. POR - 35 mins, 17 pts, 4 boards, 3 blocks

He was on a roll before he got injured the very next game.

If i were Phil I'd do this lineup

Bynum -C
Mihm - PF
Mbenga - SF
O'Neal - SG
Gasol - G

5 seven footers on the court! Let's see if that midget Chris Paul ever touch the ball again
