Well, at least I had a few hours to feel good about things and think we may have hockey. Those feelings seem to have just gone away. Not the news I was hoping to hear today.

Met for 1 hour Sunday. No plans to meet in the future have been set. So sad.

Well, I officially have no faith in the season starting any time soon.

Met for a couple hours on Monday 11/19 and NHL asks NHLPA for a proposal. Gotta hope the Union comes close to the offer by the NHL. The closer the are, the more likely the NHL to give a little more in order to reach a deal. I am not on either side of this argument. I simply want to see some hockey.

Well, it looks as if the NHLPA has given an offer and the NHL is suppose to give them a reply later today. Union says it is about as good as the can do. See if it is enough.

Seems like the difference in Make Whole offer is like 180 mil over 4 years, so like 6 mil per owner. 1.5 a year. That's ridiculous if that difference holds this up. 1.5 mil a year is nothing and it'll be more than lost if they lose another month

I think the problem is they waited a little too long for this offer. Dec 1st was impossible, it'd have been to be Dec. 15th. So the pressure still isn't there, they can agree in a week and still start Dec 15th. I'm guessing that's what happens. Nov. 28th agreement would mean 17 days prep time. That sounds about right.

There is more. The "make whole", a guarantee is in there, length of contract.... seems they are still a ways apart. LaBrun gives a good breakdown here. Dont think this is Insider, so you should be able to read it.

Do NBA players get a 50% share in "Basketball Related Revenue"(BRR)?

Ouch. Games thru 12/14 cancelled along with All Star Game. Time is running out on having a season.

Parties agree to Mediate the dispute according to ESPN. Think they start on Wednesday 11/28. Good news.

Of course it took them longer than it should've. Fehr is the main problem here. Without him we're talking about games that are actually going on right now.

Not 100% his fault. Both sides want what they want, and it doesnt seem like they are budging. The most movement we saw was when HRR went 50/50.

Does not appear early mediation results are good at all. At least, not hearing anything hopeful.

Interesting. A players-owners meeting, without the legal reps and such. Could actually find a way to break thru all the BS and get a resolution.
