Trade offers for AD?

Post#1 » by JustBuzzin » Fri Apr 26, 2024 4:55 am

Lakers need to get younger around LeBron. Clearly the duo of a 32 yr old AD and 40yr old LeBron are no longer capable of winning a championship.

Lakers decide to trade AD for younger fresher legs to help offset the age of LeBron.

What are the best AD trade offers?

It's really tough to get younger and better in the same trade because other teams aren't eager to get older and worse. Granted some picks added in can make it happen, but I'm not sure how much a team trading for AD (a clear win-now move) will be tempted by them.

I would go the other way and build around AD. Trade LeBron to the Warriors

This. But I think a better landing spot for James is Philly.

He takes his talents to Philadelphia with George or Harden or _____. Whomever he can talk into splitting all of 76ers cap space. Join Embiid and Maxey.

LeBron already said the goal is to retire a Lakers.

Putting a younger team around LeBron doesn't mean championship, but they might look better than the current Lakers.

A team like Charlotte could offer LaMelo/top 3 pick

AD makes Charlotte a playoff team in the East.

Ooo that can be pretty scary

Maxey, PG, Bron, Embiid
Depth is basically that and then the mid level, bi annual, hope a guy like Batum comes back for the min, and then vet mins

I think Bron wants to retire in the west coast though (rumor)

If he was to go anywhere too far, I assume its back to CLE for the retirement tour

Back on topic, the best GS offer would be Wiggins/Looney/Kunminga/Podz/2015 1st/2017 1st (both unprotected)

I'd expect other teams to beat that.

Could OKC make a grandfather offer that doesn't include their Big 3? Actually, would they go all in?

Love AD but his window doesn't quite match OKC. I don't see Presti chasing him.

As long as Lebron is on the Lakers I don't think they can trade AD unless they get a better player in return, so it's highly unlikely to happen.

AD and D'Lo for Draymond+Cp3+Full Package Picks.

LBJ retires with his besties and son.

Curry-Podz-Kuminga-Davis-TJD
D'lo sixth man Poole role with Moody and Wiggins for wing depth.
2023 Clippers W/L Count (51-31)
(Russ at bench 42-15)
without PG13 3-3
Without Kawhi 7-4
Without Russ 6-6

Davis is locked up for at least 3 more years and doesn’t actually turn 32 until March..

I don’t see a trade of AD that makes LAL better because the players better than AD don’t really get traded. And the fit isn’t bad with LBJ. DLO going. 0 for 7, dropping to a 2/3 defense.. Understand trying anything to beat the best player in the league, but yeah..

If AD is on market, 20+ teams are calling.

So Kevin Looney and a pick GSW didn't have in 2027

Seriously I think the Lakers would plan to move AD out East. I don't see a whole bunch of great offers Knicks make a ton of sense but does LA want what they have? Toronto is a perfect fit but lack of assets is a problem.

I think it’s time for a tear down. Trade Lebron, AD and everyone else for picks and young talent.

Tough time to tear it down. NOP owns the Lakers '25 1st. UTA has the Laker's '27 1st (top-4 protected).

Davis back to NOP for the Laker's 1st + other assets?

Lakers tank in '25 and '26. Hope to hit on one of Flagg/Bailey/Dybantsa/Boozer. Tamper with Luka about '26/27.

Uh, what? OKC's window is now. It is going to be much more difficult for them to win and add talent in 2-3 years when everyone is on a max contract.

Ya, if AD is on the market he is the guy OKC should be making the godfather offer for. More than Lauri, more than KAT. He would be a terror in OKC.

AD and Chet would be a generational defensive big man duo.

OKC's window is now. They are young, but that doesn't mean they aren't a contender. Particularly with AD.

Cason + Giddey + Dieng + #12 + 3(?) future FRP

Does that get beat? If LAL is moving to a rebuild, which they should, I am not sure who beats that offer.

G - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander / Kyle Lowry or Chris Paul (Vet MIN)
G - Lou Dort / Isaiah Joe
F - Jalen Williams / Aaron Wiggins
F - Chet Holmgren / Kenrich Williams
C - Anthony Davis / Jalen Smith (MLE)

Bench could use another scorer but that is up there w/ Boston for most talented team in the league.

Think its safe to say Harden won't be going back to Philly any time soon unless there is a basketball leadership change.
