Cavs and Bulls

Post#1 » by JJ_PR » Mon Sep 22, 2025 7:55 pm

Cavs get: Jalen Smith and Dalen Terry
Bulls get: Max Strus and 4 2nds ('26, '27 Nuggs, '28 and '32)

Why?
Cavs address some needs and save some money.
Bulls get 4 2nd round picks.

I think Chicago can do better than 4 late seconds and having to take Strus. I know Strus is a fine player, I just don't see the value for Chicago here. Maybe if a team would take him and send out a second or two with some useless expirings that could even things out? I think Terry actually looked like something (a bench player) last season, too, so Chicago may not want to move him.

I like the idea of Strus to Orlando (some permutation similar to what you posted). I also wonder if he could fit in Charlotte? Maybe Josh Green + 2 2nds, with Green and the 2nds going to Chicago?

Josh Green makes too much money, in my opinion. Also, he doesn't address our need for a back-up SF and a back-up C.

Struss is a good guard, but the Bulls have like 8 guards already is that the smart move? As a former Bull does he want to return? The Bulls then have a pair of expiring centers, so next summer they have to shop for at least 2 probably 3 new ones, good market out there for them?

Not a great move

My thought was that he goes to the Bulls, not to Cleveland.

Jalen Smith is stealthily the best center on the Bulls' roster, trading him for scraps would be silly.

My bad. I guess any trade that fills those two positions is good in my book. My preference would be the Orlando trade.

Dalen Terry is the new Okeke with the O.P.

I'm fine with taking back Jalen Smith, but I suspect that the Bulls aren't fine letting him go, and if the Cavs are giving 4 seconds and Strus, I suspect they'd ask the Bulls to eat the salary difference rather than pay Terry $5M to wave a towel in the playoffs.
