the right number feels perfectly in the middle of those two numbers. $130-135M gets you $26-27M a year. Daniels is like the perfect fit next to Trae

Resisting the urge to be the old man yelling at clouds here, but people arw paying a lot of money for plus defenders who are pretty limited offensively.

You might end up being right. League took a while to correct its tendency to overspend on offense first SGs. Maybe these will trend the same way in a few years?

I mean, I think it's fair if they are really good. Camara was second team defense? Dyson 1st. If Dyson gets to 37% on 3pt% and 15ppg is perfect

Thybulle could get that had he ever gotten to 10ppg. I think that's the line. If the team feels like he can get to 15ppg scoring league average and always be a candidate for all defense team, 25M per is fair

I felt like defense was undervalued for a long time, and neither Camara nor Dyson are completely worthless on offense, but in the playoffs their presence on the floor is going to impact how their teams are defended. It's all well and good to say if these guys get to league average from 3 (on decent volume), they'll be coveted 3 and D wings, but only Camara is close and opponents will force them to hit those shots when it counts. If Daniels doesn't improve, you're playing 4 on 5, not counting your center.

Dort is extension eligible, wonder what he gets after these deals. Funny, I was questioning his deal a bit originally but the idea was always that the cap would go up enough that 18m wouldn’t be awful even if he didn’t get better.

Well he got a lot better and it’s not much under this cap environment.

I’d be really happy with picking up his option and adding 3yr80. But id also be happy just opt out and signing a new 4yr100, or ideally 5yr125 at that point..

Would be helpful if Chet/Jalen play 64ish games, but would love to see an all-time-great season type record out of the Thunder where everyone stays healthy..

I'd probably prefer Murray to Nesmith, Kuminga, Jabari, and maybe Sharpe depending on whether he continues to improve. The Kings probably couldn't argue with that in negotiations and still claim they wanted to keep him.

Murray also had a lot more leverage than guys like Camara and Braun who weren't top 10 picks. Braun is going to make almost twice as much per year as he made in his first four years combined, Keegan will have made $36m by the time his extension kicks in. Camara got to replace a year of team control at the league minimum with a year earning $20m-- he technically got three new years under contract and over $80m in new money.

I would go
Dyson
Jabari
Camara
Murray
Sharpe
Kuminga

I will leave Braun off because who knows how much of this is actually Jokic magic, and Giddy is just a completely different type of player than everyone else, so apples to oranges.

Kuminga I can't say i watched enough of him on Defense to paint a full picture, but the short contract makes it up for the lack of risk

Sharpe I can agree I think, he is lacking that 3 ball to compensate the rest of his game that is lackluste.

Now Braun I'm fully into it, even with Jokic, his effort on court, his defense, and his IQ by itself has been phenomenal. Bruce Brown and KCP never had a season as good as Brauns last one, and they are the poster boys of Jokic making ok players getting money.

You think that Murray is the worst player here? Weird.

I've got the two guys at $24MM AAV as the most likely to underperform on their contracts.
