Trade ideas for Derrick Rose

Post#62 » by rugbyrugger23 » Fri Nov 6, 2015 3:59 am

Yes this is a serious, not green font, offer...

Bulls Trade: Rose + Portis + Kirk + Kings 1st Owed

To

Wolves Trade: Rubio + Martin + Payne

First response from Wolves, "no chance Wolves organization wants Rose around their young players." Maybe so...but looming KG presence, along with other incumbent vets, even Pek to kick him around, could be just what Rose needs to revive his career while stationed in Not-Chicago north that is MN. Rose would bring the "once" superstar excitement Wolves organization could use. And for their efforts controlling the 3 ring circus that is Rose, Portis and what could be a nice 1st from Kings to supplement their rebuild. And worst case, Rose becomes tank commander.

Bulls get Rubio to run point with a core of Butler and Mirotic...joining his fellow Spaniard in Gasol. Martin allows for many lineup options, either starting next to Rubio with Butler at SF or off the bench as 6th man.

That's a fair trade IMO.

Why on earth would the Kings want Gibson when they have Cousins, Koufus, and Cauley-stien? And for Collison+McLemore!

Much rather have Gibson then Noah. He fits better next to Lopez and can hit that mid range shot . Also why are the Nets giving up any picks? the Nets should be getting at least 1 or 2 1st round picks for taking those large contracts and giving them expiring contracts back just like other ppl on this forum have suggested .

Jazz pass on that pretty easily. They've already got Lyles backing up Favors so Portis, who is a good trade piece, would be of limited value to them. Rose doesn't have trade that type of trade value by himself.

Eric Gordon and Jrue Holiday for Derrick Rose and Tony Snell

Holiday - Brooks
Gordon - Moore
Butler - Dunleavy - McDougie
Mirotic - Gibson - Portis
Gasol - Noah - Bairstow

Thought of Rose with Davis is fun. It's not like Holiday and Gordon are working out all that great. If he doesn't work out Rose, Evans, and Anderson are all off the books and you can look into Westbrook possibly.

What does #2 mean? A 2nd round pick or the 2nd overall pick?

Its really not, Rubio is considerably better than all that. Also, kings 1st = 2nd.

You would have to replace Rubio with Pekovic before you got the Wolves interest and that would kill any deal for the Bulls

Why do you hate the Pelicans?

Lots of good trades. Mavericks and Pelicans are intriguing, out of the box ideas.

Aaron Afflalo, Jose Calderon, Derrick Willams for Rose and whatever to match contracts and/or roster spots? It's not a flashy trade for the Bulls sure but you get 3 solid veterans to plug in wholes and help create a more stable/balanced roster. The Knicks would take a chance that a chance of scenery and maybe some Phil Jackson zen would get the a Rose that is closer to the 2011 version and less the current day version (which is kinda crappy). Salary commitments (assuming Afflalo and Williams both choose not to opt out) would be about the same for the same length of time. And the Bulls wouldn't have to include any "incentive" like most of the other trades.

I don't particularly like this trade because it could potentially destroy any positive moral in the locker room we have worked towards building while giving up arguably our second best scorer (I know it's too early to refer to Afflalo as such since he hasn't played yet) and getting a player in Derrick Rose that at absolute best case doesn't necessarily fit in the offense we are building.

I would personally prefer to add incentive to a third team taking on Derrick Rose while creating additional 2016 cap space and adding two available roster spots.

Brooklyn gets:
Derrick Rose
Taj Gibson
Cleanthony Early
2016 Sacramento Kings First Round Draft Pick
2019 Cleveland Cavaliers Second Round Draft Pick
2019 Houston Rockets Second Round Draft Pick

Chicago gets:
Joe Johnson
Jose Calderon

New York gets:
TPE(s)
Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

Hate helping the Nets get better but getting rid of Calderon would be worth it. Phil should get the key to the city if he can pull this off.

If the other teams are willing to do this, yeah, I'd do that as well.

How about something like this:

Wolves trade: Ricky Rubio, Kevin Martin
Wolves receive: MCW, Derek Rose, Bobby Portis, some manner of picks from the Bulls

Bulls trade: Rose, Portis, some manner of picks
Bulls receive: Kevin Martin, Greivis Vasquez, Jarryd Bayless

Bucks trade: MCW, Greivis Vasquez, Jarryd Bayless
Bucks receive: Rubio

That's terrible for the Wolves. I'm not the world's biggest Rubio fan but the Bucks aren't getting him for MCW.
