Det/Cha

Post#1 » by vege » Thu May 6, 2010 4:06 pm

My daily attempt to trade Rip

Detroit Out: Richard Hamilton / Chris Wilcox
Detroit In: Tyson Chandler / DeSagana Diop

They get out of Rip's deal, sadly they get bad an horrible contract in Diop (one of the worst in the league) and an always injured Chandler (hopefully Kander would fix him)

Detroit at least relief the guard glut and spend that money in 2 defensive bigman.

Charlotte Out: Tyson Chandler / DeSagana Diop
Charlotte In: Richard Hamilton / Chris Wilcox

They add playoff experience and a scorer who knows LB's system (i am assuming LB will be back to Charlotte) They also save 3 million next season but take on some long term money (not that much considering they unload an useless Diop)

If LB is still the coach in Charlotte, Rip makes a lot of sense for them, except for Stephen Jackson and their a small market team that probably can't take on too much large salary.

But there is no doubt Rip played his best ball under LB and I think would be great for that team playing next to Wallace and Diaw.

Would Charlotte add Augustine or Henderson or their pick?

Would that make the trade idea acceptable for Detroit in your opinion Pop?

Crash can play minutes at the 4 and SJax can play minutes at the 3 so it's doable to have both SJax and Rip as long as SJax don't mind starting on the bench.

Diaw (35) / Crash (13)
Crash ( 22) / SJax (26)
Rip (35) / SJax (13)

Or something like that. You need 1 more player to make that rotation work.

For better or worse, Gerald Wallace is viewed as the Bobcats' franchise player now. (It's funny that CHA, despite numerous lotto picks in their short history, did better in the expansion draft than any other draft! Anyway...) They aren't going to play him out of position for Rip. He's even said he does not want to play PF anymore.

The Pistons need to find a "one-piece-away-from-contending" team that's desperate for a veteran SG, and trade Rip to them. Charlotte isn't that team on either accounts.

How about Rip and Austin Daye for Stephen Jackson and Nazr. We would gladly exchange Diop for Nazr if you would like.

SJax will never play for Detroit. Remember the brawl?

ecuhus1981 Crash would start at SF and play a few minutes at PF not as if he is moving to PF  He would likely play the last 5 minutes at PF and ~10 more minutes during the game at some point.

Yeah, with Jax and Wallace in Charlotte, there's no room for Rip. Although he'd be a nice fit.

Don't like this one. Chandler is too injury prone, Diop is completely useless.
Rip still produces.

Terrible for the Bobcats, although I think the Pistons would actually be a little bit better with this addition by subtraction move.

It doesn't make sense for both teams.
Charlotte would have no centers, and detroit get a bad one and an average injured one. no deal

A deal where the Bobcats send out Diop + Some youth or protected picks for Hamilton seems pretty fair.

No sorry but Diops contract is albatross its in the league with the Brands/Arenas.

Rips isn't that bad.

7 mil for Diop to be on the inactive reserve til 2013 or 12.5 mil to the Starting SG Rip Hamilton

Its an easy answer

Didn't realise Diop's contract was until 2013.... No deal.
Thats horrible for a guy that doesn't play.
Rip is, at worst, worth expiring contracts. Maybe even a late lottery pick too.
No point swapping a average-bad contract for a flat out stinker of a contract...

Holy Butt! How did Diop get that contract? It's a year longer than I thought too. Nothing you can really do with him. Charlotte is about peaked out as a 1st round exit team unfortunately, unless something epic happens for them.

Na, nice trade or 2, retain their free agents and coach, draft well, I think they could move forward a bit, but not a contender for a while.

Gerald Wallace is a stud, they need to surround him with more talent.
