JAZZ OUT: AK47
JAZZ IN: RIP, future 1st rounder
MIN OUT: Jefferson
MIN IN: Prince, and Daye
DET OUT: Prince, Daye, RIP, future 1st rounder
DET IN: Jefferson, AK47
JAZZ: This deal immediately shreds 5.3 million of their cap for the upcoming 2010-2011 season. Rip is the perfect complement to Williams and puts the Jazz in contention. Rip is not washed up or declining. His numbers when healthy were good he shot 49% from the floor and 37.5 from 3. (WHEN HEALTHY)
(Since rip saves the team 5 million the Jazz can use their MLE.. AK47 17.8 million, RIP 12.5 million = 5.3 million which is about the MLE…)
Williams - Price
Hamilton - Mathews
MLE - #9 pick (Aminu/George) - Miles
Boozer - Millsap
Okur - Koufos - 2nd rounder
MIN: They get 2 small forwards, a vet and a sophomore. So they get a nice now and later combination. If they draft big, and get a shooter in free agency they will be in good shape. Kahn would do this deal to shore up a need, and save money in the long-term. (Brewer/Daye would be a nice combo by the 2011-2012 season) Sign a cheap shooting guard like…. Korver, Butler, tony allen, roger mason, mike miller?, TMAC, carney, wright, Ronnie brewer, murray, or larry hughes.
Flynn - Sessions - Rubio
FA - #23 (white/stephenson/anderson) - Ellington
Prince - Daye - Gomes
Love - Darko - #16 (Udoh/davis/sanders/orton/Hayward)
Cousins (#4) - Darko - Hollins
DET: Gets the size they need, and AK47 can be a nice combo-forward to pair with Jerebko. Then use The MLE, and LLE on some role player guards. They could lure a veteran like earl Watson with the LLE, and go for a shooter with the MLE like Korver, Mason Jr., or Butler. OR we get a pg like Luke Ridnour or Raymond Felton and use Stuckey as the combo guard he really is.
Stuckey - Bynum - LLE (bi-annual)
Gordon - MLE
AK47 - Jerebko - Summers
Jefferson - CV31 - Maxiel
Wallace - #7 pick - Wilcox - #36 pick

You're getting closer to a fair deal, but Detroit would probably need to add more. Take out Daye, send 7 to Minny and 36 to Utah and I think it's pretty decent.

yeh. Utah won't just take on that much contract without a little more incentive.

Honestly, it might take more than #36. If I were getting desperate, I might send Daye instead of the pick.

if they do this deal they may avoid the luxury tax for a season.... and be able to keep Boozer at a decent rate. With a future pick... The Jazz can look forward to adding talent at a good cost through the draft. Every team loves having 2 1st round picks!

I don't think they'd keep Boozer if they took on Rip. Honestly, they might be better without him. Millsap just put up 18 and 8 in 32 MPG in the playoffs, and is a much better defender. A Deron - Rip - Sap - Okur core would be balanced and formidable, IMO. Plus, they'd have #9 and whatever extra incentive Detroit might have to add.
