Jermaine Taylor

Post#1 » by x- » Sat Oct 30, 2010 1:36 pm

Since the Rockets have to trade or cut someone to sign Dampier, it looks like they're trying to move Jermaine Taylor.
Sources tell FanHouse roster spot for Dampier will be created by trading of Houston SG Jermaine Taylor to highest bidder.

I realize that the Rockets have no leverage, but which teams could show interest in Taylor?

He's a 6-5, 23 years old great athlete, who seemingly improved every month, however was glued to the Rockets bench due their endless depth.

Low risk/high reward.

Bulls? Cavs? Knicks? Warriors? Raptors? Kings?

Taylor has a great body for an NBA 2-guard, he can shoot from anywhere and he put up crazy stats at UCF.

The problem is, he is clearly never going to be a good enough ballhandler/passer to be an primary offensive guy, and he didn't show much effort on the defensive end in college.

He is one of those guys, where if a coach and get him to commit to playing good, active defense he will be a great role-player and if not he probably kicks around NBA bench for a couple years and then ends up overseas. A lot of guys fall into this bin, and most never do much. Still, he is probably worth a 2nd round pick from a team in need for depth at the wing.

I could see some teams with capspace giving up a future 2nd for him.

I think Sacramento is a possibility. Taylor for Darnell Jackson or Head (both unguaranteed) works.

Taylor is an athletic freak. But he's not a system guy. He won't be scoring off screen or anything. He's mostly an iso guy. That's one of the reason why Adelman doesn't play him.

Hes a great athlete, capable defender, great body control, and from what we've heard, excellent work ethic, he took a week off after the season then went right back to work.

average handles and........................... tunnel vision

I'd like to see GSW add him if Houston releases him but I don't like the idea of trading any future assets for him. Seems to me GSW has found J Taylor level talent in the DLeague more then once.

I actually don´t see a team where he would be relevant. 3rd stringer and injury insurance at best

He was one of my favorite second round picks the year he was drafted and I still really like him. I would love to see the Jazz try and trade CJ Miles for him and another player.

Now, the Rockets have reportedly turned their attention to trading Taylor and sources say that thirteen teams have expressed interest in the shooting guard. The Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards and Miami HEAT are among the teams interested in acquiring Taylor, according to a source close to the situation.

It's hoopsworld, so you'll have to take it with a grain of salt. I for one highly doubt Orlando and Miami have shown interest. Doesn't seem to make sense for either team.

Jermaine Taylor has the worst case of tunnel vision in the NBA.

Beside from that, he has a NBA body, not enough handles for a NBA combo guard, average shooting and good driving skills.

Sure right after you trade the Knicks Scola (who we can then route to Denver in a Melo deal) for Eddy Curry.
