Top Trade Value SGs - DONE
Same as the PG thread, but now on to SGs.
Please vote on which SG you think has the highest trade value.
Opinions and lists are welcome, but please be sure to click and vote!
1. Dwayne Wade
He was winning by a landslide, so I decide to end this massacre early.
2. Eric Gordon
After some back and forth, Gordon took a 21-16 lead which was good enough for my standards.
3. Kobe Bryant
A 13-8 lead over Harden seemed like it would hold up.
4. James Harden
14-8 over Ellis sealed this one.
5. Monta Ellis
Ellis was running away with this one. Next....
6. Kevin Martin
12-7-5 over DD and George respectively.
7. DeMar DeRozen
7-3 over Manu, in another vote that was slowing down.
8. Tyreke Evans
Easily outdistancing Paul George.
9. Evan Turner
13-8 over Manu while PG has 6 votes.
10. Manu Ginobili /Wes Matthews
Being only a 24-21 lead did not seem significantly large enough to declare a true winner, and while Manu did have the slight edge, I'll add Wes too since I added him late.

voted for Harden with age/contract into consideration, he still has a lot to add to his game and out of the young SG, he is the only with legit height to say he is a SG and does not have as many flaws as say Derozan since he too is of legit SG height, I mean I always looked at SG at least 6'5 and above. Also out of the young SG crops, Harden is the only one I recall that gave Kobe fits, Martin/Gordon/Ellis cannot hold Kobe on the block even at his old age.

Voted for Gordon based off age and what he showed this past season. Wade isn't that old, but his body has taken a beating, and I could see that shaving off a few years from his career.

Come on, this one is Wade pretty easily. Are you telling me that if the Clippers or the Thunder offered a Gordon/Harden+filler for Wade, the Heat would accept?

I would have listed him for the PGs.. and will if it keeps going... I'm trying to do 6-10, but not a lot of responses.

I'm not quite sure that talent level = trade value. So I don't really think Wade is the hands down favorite, yeah he's the best, but there could be arguments made for others.

You're right. To determine trade value you also have to consider age, position, injury history, contract, loyalty to the franchise etc. Wade is a 28 year old superstar on a good contract (as cheap as superstars get) who is the franchises face. Like I said, any deal for him that starts with a good young SG (Harden, Gordon, and Evans) would need plenty of other incentives for the Heat to even consider.

Voted Gordon, if there wasn't a scare of a hard cap I'd still go Kobe but 25 Mill out of a probable 60 mil cap means no help for him.

Re: Top SG's - Vote for #2 - 8/2 - Gordon leads Kobe
Funny that Kobe lists so high when he's in his mid 30's now, has started losing a step, and has a balloon payment deal that now is the fattest in the NBA but then escalates another $6 mill as he ages.
Add it up. Someone has to ship out $24 mill in contracts and be fine with the $ escalating but meanwhile, Kobe's prime years are used up. LAL backloaded the deal, skimmed the cream, and now someone would be getting a declining Kobe at more $ than what his best years cost. Trade value? Few teams could or would deal for him and as the biggest $$$ hit in the NBA the salary/age factor is such that maybe 3-4 teams have some interest but are not about to spend a lot of youth, multiple starters or good picks that can have years of value.
Try to think up a win now team that could and would package $24 mill in assets. Consider that the next CBA may make it hard to accomodate a payroll of $80 mill +. Dallas might manage to bundle 3-4 of their most costly assets aside from Dirk, but then they are a 2 man team a short window.
Hard to see a deal the Spurs, Knicks, Heat or Bulls could or would do. Few others can lose assets and have any shot at a Championship run. Celtics? Could deal some of their aged stars but...like Kobe, the "value" on Allen, KG, aint what it was.

I think in terms of trade value, Eric Gordon SHOULD be more valued but likely wouldn't due to Kobe's superstar factor. Still voted for Gordon...

Such different players - different teams would so clearly pick one or the other.
Nobody except maybe LeBron is as recognizable and marketable as Kobe, and he's got rings.

Voted for Gordon simply cause of age and potential and his productivity over the last few seasons. Yes Kobe is a beast but he's also up there in age and his contract makes it hard for teams to take him on. I would rather have Gordon at this point and time you could possibly get 10-14 more years out of him at this point and time.
James Harden would be a close 2nd
