Heat / Clippers / Suns / Mavericks / Bulls

Post#1 » by GrantHill » Sat Jun 9, 2012 12:24 pm

Miami trades:
Norris Cole
Mario Chalmers
James Jones

Miami receives:
Mo Williams
Brandan Wright

Gives them the perfect point guard next to LeBron and Wade since Williams was an all star next to James in Cleveland. They also add a cheap, young power forward / center back up who showed some good things in Dallas

PG: Maurice Williams / FA
SG. Dwyane Wade / Mike Miller
SF: LeBron James / Shane Battier
PF: Udonis Haslem / Brandan Wright
C: Chis Bosh / Ronny Turiaf / Joel Anthony

Clippers trade:
Mo Williams
Trey Thompkins
Ryan Gomes

Clippers receive
James Jones
Shawn Marion
Channing Frye

They get a defensive minded small forward who can guard all positions on the floor. Butler and Marion worked well together in Dallas and a Paul-Butler-Marion-(Griffin)-Jordan lineup would be incredible on defense. Channing Frye gives them a much needed big man backup at the 4 and 5 who can shoot the three and space the floor in crunch time to give Paul and Griffin more space to opperate. Jones adds solid depth to the wing positions.

PG: Chris Paul / Eric Bledsoe
SG: Caron Butler / Chauncey Billups / Randy Foye (?)
SF: Shawn Marion / Nick Young (?) /
PF: Blake Griffin / Kenyon Matin / Reggie Evans
C: DeAndre Jordan / Channing Frye

Phoenix trades:
Channing Frye
Steve Nash (s&t @ 5 million / 3 years)***

Phoenix receives:

Ryan Gomes
Norris Cole
#17 (via Mavericks)
#29 (via Bulls)
C.J. Watson
Ronnie Brewer***

They aquire two more picks in a deep draft and cut Frye's deal off the books. They start the rebuilding proscess by adding Norris Cole as a young prospects and simply cut Watson off the books.
They select Dion Waiters (13), Royce White (17) and Quincy Miller (29) to give them some great pieces going forward.

PG: Aaron Brooks / Norris Cole / Sebastian Telfair
SG: Dion Waiters / Michael Redd
SF: Jared Dudley / Quincy Miller / Josh Childress
PF: Markieff Morris / Royce White / Hakim Warrick
C: Marcin Gortat / Robin Lopez / Trey Thompkins

Dallas trades:

Shawn Marion
#17
Brandan Wright

Dallas receives:

TPE

Dallas cuts Haywood with the help of the amnesty clause to create as much cap space as possible. They sign Deron Williams and still have enough money to add some good pieces.

PG: Deron Williams / Jason Kidd
SG: Rodrique Beaubois / Vince Carter / Dominique Jones
SF: FA (Gerald Wallace?) / Kelena Azubuike /
PF. Dirk Nowitzki / Elton Brand (off amnesty waiver)
C: Ian Mahimni / FA (Aaron Gray?)

Chicago trades:

Ronnie Brewer***
C.J. Watson
#29

Chicago receives:

Mario Chalmers
Steve Nash (s&t @ 5 million / 3 years)***

***TRADE AFTER START OF FREE AGENCY***

They give up a pick that they don't really need but add two really good point guards to help them "survive" during the Rose-less time. They add Grant Hill in free agency to give them a defensive stopper off the bench (after loss of Brewer).

PG: Steve Nash / Mario Chalmers / John Lucas III (?)
SG: Richard Hamilton / Kyle Korver
SF: Luol Deng / Grant Hill / Jimmy Butler
PF: Carlos Boozer / Taj Gibson
C: Joakim Noah / Omer Asik
Hill on Nash going to the Lakers: “That’s like transferring from Duke and going to Carolina.”

Creative but a 5 team trade is not likey. I like it from a Chi standpoint but Nash will make more than 5mil. MIA prolly rejects.
BAF: Phoenix Suns
PG: Ja Morant / Ajay Mitchell / A.Jackson
SG: Coby White / Kon Knueppel / Sion James
SF: Keegan Murray / Tristan da Silva / M.Peavy
PF: Matas Buzelis / Noah Clowney / C.Martin
C: Evan Mobley / Quentin Post / Luka Garza

Can't see the Heat agreeing to make the Bulls better.

Terrible for Dallas.

Chlamers stinks and I doubt Nash is going to bring you picks in any S&T unless they're second rounders.

Bulls: no.

This makes no sense for Dallas to give away a promising big who makes no $$$ and a decent pick to dump Marion who has positive value. He has a reasonable contract for 2 more years and he can still really play. Plus the Haywood news changes a lot of things for Dallas.

Clippers turn this one down. Too much money invested in SF with Marion and Butler and Frye has a fairly high contract for what he provides. Better to keep their current players and have cap room available in a year when Williams and Gomes are off the books.

The Suns are not doing a 6 for 2 transaction and they are not interested in losing Frye and Nash for that pile of cap-cloggers. There are too many free agents and teams involved in this. Hideous outcome for the Suns.

Dallas shouldn't give up #17. Instead they should trade their 2013 1st and DoJo. Still very fair.

I don't think Dallas trades Wright either since he's an intriguing young talent. Someone else should give the Heat a big or a late pick to draft a big.

Well thought out, just unlikely that a five-team trade with this many moving parts goes through, but I'll admit they're fun to think about.
