KOTB: ATL/DEN - Brewer for Morrow

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Wed Nov 21, 2012 12:01 am

Atlanta gets:
Corey Brewer

Denver gets:
Anthony Morrow

Why for Atlanta? They have good shooting on the perimeter, but a lot of defensive weak links. Brewer fills more of a need than Morrow with his defense

Why for Denver? They need shooting pretty badly and Brewer is expendable with the other athletic defenders they have at SG/SF, especially with Wilson Chandler coming back

I vote yes. Denver has no shooters outside of Gallo and Atlanta just dealt their only real SF in Marvin ..and if neither player pans out their both expirings anyway

I vote yes too. Deal seems low risk but with a decent reward for each side. Nice idea.

KOTB: yes

Interesting. I thought Brewer was going to be a great pro when he came to the NBA. I'm still amazed he has such a pitiful shooting %.

If Danny Ferry were to say no I can only imagine it'd be because Morrow is a good friend of "you know who."
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

I'll vote yes. These small KOTB deals seem cheap, but it seems like something both teams say yes to, and that embodies KOTB.

I would think that both GMs would make this move. It gives Atlanta a great energy guy in Brewer who can adapt to any system, and he is also long time friends with Al Horford and great buddies with John Jenkins. You could replace Korver with Brewer in the starting 5 and allow Korver to be the main scorer off the bench. Brewer and DeShawn Stevenson also won a ring together in Dallas not long ago, and along with Josh Smith, those three would make a great defensive wing trio

For Denver it means they get the spacing they need and 3 Point shooting is something they need help with. Morrow would probably only play 10-15 mins, but if he can knock down the three at 40%, he would get more opportunities.

I would say yes to it.

I like it as an Atlanta fan, it gives us a real SF and a good defender off the wing, it'll also bolster our bench by allowing us to use Korver off the bench. But in response to Ice32: I agree with all of your comments except for the one where you said that Korver would be our main scorer off the bench, Lou Williams is our main scorer off the bench.
