Kevin Seraphin and Jan Vesely (and Okafor too)
Are there any teams interested in getting either player? Seraphin is a rotation-worthy bigman that can play both pf and center.
Jan Vesely needs a change of scenery. 6'11 and very agile, but still has no skillset. I imagine he'd do well on the Spurs, who thrive in molding young bigmen.
Also wondering on who would want Okafor. He's on the final year of his deal, and is very productive (LOL at that gump who said Kendrick Perkins was a better player). Would like a pick between #10 and #15 if possible.

I could see Charlotte going after Kevin and Emeka. There is no way any team is giving up that high of a pick. Unless you take on someone like Amare Stoudmire.

If Washington is looking to clear some capspace, Portland could help. But I don't think you guys will get a high draft pick out of that package.

As a Wizards fan, I agree that it is too optimistic to expect a pick in return for Okafor. Okafor is a good player, but he's a soon-to-be UFA who is owed $14.5M. It's tough to see anybody giving up a mid first for that - at least not right now in the offseason.
The best chance to get value for Okafor is if a contending team loses their big man before the Trade Deadline and is willing to trade an expiring plus incentive for Okafor to fill the void. Otherwise, the Wizards should just keep Okafor, continue to build a culture of defense, and try to find and develop a young big man to take over when Okafor eventually departs.

I'd offer Hump and Brooks or a #1 for Okafor.
Modest interest in Vesley as well.

Re: Kevin Seraphin and Jan Vesely (and Okafor too)
With Nene's health uncertainty going forward, at least for the first half of the season, it would be better to retain Okafor. We're not going to get a 1st round pick good enough to yield an immediate replacement. Draft a young big or stretch 4 and then see what Okafor yields in Feb.
I don't mind trading Seraphin but selling low isn't quite a good idea. I want to see how he performs with a season off season work here in the States.
I'd unload Vesely for a ham sandwich at this point. But that means EG would be admitting he **** in drafting that useless euro.

Gerald Green for Vesely? I like Seraphin but we filled his spot with Mahinmi. Okafor's contract makes him impossible for us even though he'd be a nice addition if we could get him cheap in 2014.

Seraphin can play PF.. and Vesely is a PF who is probably closer to a C than SF.

so is either an upgrade for Hansbrough who hasn't been comfortable as a backup? Tyler is a restricted free agent and could get a deal we wouldn't choose to match creating an opening that neither Pendi nor Plumlee could fill. Green's salary matches Vesely's.

I generally agree. Seraphin does not look like he's gonna be a starter but is a low cost rotation type who has some good nights. Veseley? I do NOT believe in advocating drafting a guy who I never saw....so overhyped Euros who are BACKUPS on some team that would get CREAMED by Duke or Kentucky....WTF? You think by now they learn?
Okafor is expensive and soon expired but IS usually a pretty effective player. He does at times flounder...but he's been on some very dismal teams. Okafor MIGHT be more value priced on his next deal and if he lands on a GOOD team...could surprise.

Hansborough is WAY better than either Seraphin or Veseley and I doubt he gets an offer that's too huge to match.
I expect he replaces West before long and is solid, versatile, cost effective even if no "Star". The guy always has been under-rated but a good player.

I'd want Vesely for the Wolves - i think the length and athleticism would be useful. Plus I think Adelman would get some good production out of him. But I wouldn't give up much, would wait first and see what the Cap situation is like post Pek and Budinger signings...

Wiz fan here too and I support holding on to Okafor until the trade deadline next year.
Would either team consider a Vesely / Ridnour swap?

Re: Kevin Seraphin and Jan Vesely (and Okafor too)
I have a strong hunch that we won't even trade Okafor at the deadline next year for value unless the 2014 season is going down the toilet and we're not in the playoff hunt. We're unlikely to move Okafor this summer, but I'd bet we're more likely to move him this summer than we are next year at the deadline.
Otherwise, that'll be Wall's first postseason opportunity. Nothing poisons the well like crippling Wall's best team mid-stride and saying "look John, I know you wanted the 5th seed, but we had an opportunity to get what projects to be the 23rd pick in the draft attached to a few a deadweight scrubs. This is what's best for all if us. We sent Emeka where he can win 'cause heavens knows he's not going to win anything here with you leading us."
It seems that Okafor expiring next summer is pretty close to optimal unless he's a cog in a big trade this summer that scores a core piece. As that's unlikely, I expect him to finish his contract in DC.

Personally - I would do that, but other Wolves fans hold ridnour in high regard

It won't work because Kevin Martin can't negotiate a new contract before the draft. The Wizards have no use for him anyhow. I do like the thought of getting that #12 pick, but paying Perkins' salary isn't worth it.
