Lakers--Clippers--Nets
Sources leaking Clippers not interested in Howard: Smoke Screen
Lakers Trade: Howard (S&T), Blake
Lakers Receive: Hump, Butler, Bledsoe, Brooks
Lakers then amnesty MWP and buyout Duhon NG saving about 30mil in payroll+tax. Now all-in on '14 FA class (along with Kobe return). Bledsoe gives them 2 guards, on rookie deals to fill in with Kobe out and provides some youth/athleticism missing.
Lakers Lineup:
C-Pau/Hill
PF-Hump/Hill
SF-Butler/Clark?
SG-Brooks/Meeks/Kobe
PG-Nash/Bledsoe
Clippers Trade: Jordan, Butler, Bledsoe
Clippers Receive: Howard
Clippers trade across the hall in hopes Paul-Howard-Griffin wins some rings.
Clippers Lineup:
C-Howard/Hollins
PF-Griffin/Odom?
SF-Barnes?/Hill
SG-Crawford/Billups
PG-Paul/Billups
Nets Trade: Hump and Brooks
Nets Receive: Jordan and Blake
Nets turn Hump in Jordan and hope his fit next to Lopez becomes strong frontcourt of future.
Nets Lineup:
C-Lopez/Jordan
PF-Jordan/Evans/Tele
SF-Wallace/Vet?
SG-JJ/Vet?
PG-Williams/Watson

probably the worse return yet for Howard and on top of that we give Clipps another service PG thats expiring...awesome
........didn't think that other scenario where OKC builds a super team could've gotten worse, I was wrong.

Typical Laker fan. Still holding on to Howard=Value in trade.
If Howard does a S&T (and just doesn't walk) the ONLY reason he does so, is to go to team of his choice (and one that doesn't have cap space to outright sign him). Meaning, Lakers are lucky to get a bag of bolts and have ZERO leverage. The only Laker CHOICE in S&T is to say: "no, we won't facilitate" and get ZERO in return while Howard goes to team of choice who has capspace (like Houston or Atlanta).

typical nonsense from haters like you, how bout Zero better than making your competition better? But thats probably to hard for non thinkers like you to rationalize. When Clipps have capp rom like Hou/Atl/Dall then you can come up with moronic trade scenario like you have here

I agree. But I do think if Clippers are going to entice Lakers to actually trade across the hall, they have to up the ante/offer from what a typical Howard S&T should warrant.

But such a "thinker" like you doesn't rationalize why getting Bledsoe, Brooks, Hump, Butler, save 30mil, and still almost 100% capsapce in '14 INSTEAD of nothing for Howard make you better then your competition. Wow, just wow.

This looks awful for LAL.
They have to spend about $20m on worthless players in this deal (Butler and Hump)
The only pieces they get are Brooks and Bledsoe, who is a 2014 FA they could pursue if they wanted with all the cap space they will have.

yes genius because giving the Clippers the missing piece in their championship team is cleary the way while we get a bunch of crappy players and overhypeed one in Blodsoe

They'd save about $20m more if they didn't do this deal and Bledsoe will be a FA when they are loaded with cap space, and in the meanwhile they have Nash. Brooks doesn't make up all that difference.

Bledsoe is not a FA in '14.
And unless some team with enough capspace to trade for Howard is going to swallow his contract just to be nice to Lakers, they WILL be taking back contracts (ideally expiring) in any Howard S&T. Or again, let him walk for ZERO in return.

Yes, he is.

And yes.. they probably are going to get nothing in return, which is much better than this trade for them.
All they get is:
Bledsoe - again a FA in 2014 when they have a ton of cap space and Nash in the meanwhile
Brooks - who really isn't worth much I admit
+
The honor of paying $20m+ to two useless players.
This trade is terrible for LAL.

Terrible S &T trade offer. What is the incentive for LAL? If the goal for LA to save money and get Bledsoe. Let Dwight walk for nothing and amnesty MWP and make a bid for Bledsoe when he a FA.
Same end results and save more money.

Why would you try and argue Bledsoe is a FA and then use a link that confirms he is not? He has a QO, which makes him a RFA. Let one slip by their Joe.
Someone has to play SF and PF for Lakers (once Howard walks/traded and MWP amnesty)...so unless they sign vet minimum guys to one year deals, they will be spending money on someone. So again Joe, nice try with your new math.
