But teams win or lose based on production, and that's a big factor too. There is no way that with Love's production, and his ability to give a team two play-off runs under his current contract, he shouldn't be in the top 15 nominees.
As for marketing, I don't know enough about HOU's television deals with China, and whether Lin impacts them, to make a good call. Trade values change, and from my bad vantage point, it looks to me like Lin was a flash in the pan for trade value. Kobe still gets constant coverage - I imagine he's worth enough to the Lakers to justify his obscene salary. The MSG information demonstrates to me just how incredibly profitable the marketing arm could be.
Not denying that about Love.. though his ability to give a team two playoffs runs, is somewhat questionable considering he has yet to be to the playoffs. I can understand Paul being up there with his locked in contract, no recent injuries, and of course RS and PO production.
But your sole reason listed for voting for Love and Paul was based upon productivity, which was nearly the opposite logic you were applying last year when voting for Lin, and to a lesser extent Kobe.
