CLE/PHI/PHX/LAL - combined rumors

Post#1 » by TASTIC » Mon Jan 6, 2014 3:21 pm

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mzuphco

CLE gets:
Pau Gasol
Evan Turner
Tony Wroten

Starting lineup (healthy obviously)
C-Varejao
PF-Gasol
SF-Turner
SG-Waiters
PG-Irving

PHI gets:
Okafor expiring
2014 1st rounder (IND's pick)
2015 1st rounder (LAL's pick)

Full on tank mode. Bennett, Noel, Thompson is a good, young froncourt combo next season and they receive two more picks. Maybe shift Hawes for guard help this season...

PHX gets:
Thaddeus Young
Jordan Hill

Starting lineup:
Dragic / Ish / Barbosa
Bledsoe / Green / Goodwin
TYoung / Tucker / Marcus
Frye / Kieff
Plumlee / JHill / Krav

Suns get the best current players/contract combo that helps them win NOW. I love their starting line-up as well as options going forward as they don't change their successful core, nor give up any 2014 picks that could potentially land top 15 (obviously Indy's won't). Hill shores up their inferior defensive rebounding and Young is a nice veteran who's young enough to build on the core - Marion 2.0.

LAL gets:
Andrew Bynum
Alonzo Gee

Tank mode in full swing. They might need a pick going to them as well, possibly send their 2015 pick back to them...Or sending Wroten to LAL also works.

Have at it!

And yes, I am a Suns fan if it wasn't obvious, but I don't think this is THAT unrealistic except CLE sending out Bennett AND Thompson - although nothing they do would surprise me now...

Sending Earl Clark to PHI and keeping Thompson (or Bennett) on CLE also works and is probably more likely...

Those picks aren't good enough for Philly to be involved IMO

I think if the Suns got Young AND Hill, they'd possibly include Len to CLE...

And it does make more sense sending out ONE of TT/Bennett rather than both, in retrospect.

I'm confused as to what Philly is getting... Bennett/Thompson/2picks/Okafor?

in this trade Phi and LAL are going to be entering full tanking mode? Right? What does CLE get out of this trade?

The shaft.

Yeah. People were confused because the link has both, while the written description has neither. Including both seems definitely too much, and Thompson is a key cog to the Cavs from what I can tell.

Philly gets Okafor's expiring, Earl Clark, Bennett OR Thompson (slight revision, both would never happen), IND's 2014 1st and LAL's 2015 1st.

Young is more of a PF and I wouldn't trade both IND and LAL picks for him. After acquiring Young this way, Hill would see very limited playing time.

LOL! Sixers trade TTH (Thad is killing it the last 18 games btw- 21 PPG, 8 RPG on 53% shooting. Then we have to trade Wroten too??? This is a joke. All we get are 2 crappy picks...
PG: Russell Westbrook, Reggie Jackson
SG: Andre Roberson, Anthony Morrow, Jeremy Lamb
SF: Kevin Durant, KJ McDaniels, Perry Jones
PF: Serge Ibaka, Nick Collison, Robert Covington

Once again Sam Hinkie hangs up the phone laughing at this. A late first round pick this year and probably a late first next year for three of our top six players. Are you kidding me? We hired Hinkie because he's smart not an idiot

Those are some darn expensive rentals for the Cavs. No way are they involved in this
