Suns - Sixers - Jazz

Post#1 » by DirtyDez » Wed Jan 8, 2014 10:25 pm

Suns trade:
Okafor (exp)
Mo-Twins
three-1st's

Suns receive:
Thad Young
Gordon Hayward

Sixers trade:
Thad Young

Sixers receive:
Okafor (exp)
Wash-1st

Jazz trade:
Hayward

Jazz receive:
Mo-Twins
Minn-1st
Ind-1st

-Phoenix goes all in getting huge upgrades at SF/PF and still has three-1st's over the next two drafts. Tucker/Frye back them up

-Philly gets worse but saves a few bucks and gets a pick

-Utah moves on from their best player if they feel another team will pay him more than the Jazz will. Cheap depth with the twins and two picks

------

I don't see a blockbuster like this going down but wanted to gauge the value for each team...

I disagree with my esteemed colleague, but mostly because I am of the opinion that Hayward isn't being moved at this point.

I agree with you sir but hypothetically, the Jazz say yes.

I wasn't positive what the Jazz offered him and how far apart they were. Like Bledsoe and Phoenix it may not matter cause they'll match no matter what.

I really hope not, I don't think Hayward is worth more than 11 mil a year, whatever Luol Deng gets is what Hayward should get or maybe .5 to 1 mill more.

I like the deal for all 3 teams.

But could PHX afford
Thad contract
Bledsoe future contract
Hayward future contract

to go with
Dragic and frye contracts.

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

The 76ers take that in a heartbeat.

Seems like a good deal for all teams, if those are players Phoenix like.

I'm with LoserX on this. No thanks. Hayward is worth more to the Jazz than that package. He's most likely going to get paid by the Jazz. Folks are over analyzing his not being extended.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

As a Suns fan, I'm in. I'd even bump up the Indiana #1 to UT for one of the other 1st rounders (PHX '14, LAL '15 or PHX '15).

If executed, I'd then want the Suns to look to somehow move Bledsoe due to the uncertainty of his future, both because of re-signing costs and his future health (knee) questions.

I also think Hayward is worth more than the Morris twins, a #14, and a very low pick.

I appreciate the effort, but it would have to include a better pick/player for Utah.

Two First rounds in a deep draft
and two role players are not bad.

Harden got that value and Hayward isn't close to what Harden is.
Hayward isn't a superstar hes a solid number 2 or 3 option on a good team.

I think the price is very fair but if Jazz fans want him they want him

No from Philly. That offer will get you Hawes or Turner. Not Young.

I agree with this. I would do this for Hawes or Turner, but I'd want one additional asset for a Young deal (and using 5.5M in cap space--yes we are below the cap, but 5.5M is also an asset that could be used in other deals).

Young is on a reasonable deal for what he brings, and locked in for at least one more year.

I also don't seen UTA moving Hayward.

To me it doesn't even have to be an asset, it could be removal of a negative... for example if PHX took JRich with Thad for the WSH pick and Okafor that's a done deal to me.

Philly doesnt need to save money, we are under the cap as is. What is the protection on the Wash. pick? and I agree withother posters who say that this package will not get you Thad unless you send some more picks Philly's way

There's nothing wrong with his knee that will linger past a week or two. That's ridiculous. He was out earlier in the season because of a shin injury (not related to the tweak he had in his knee during the Clippers game). There's no reason to worry about a Bledsoe lingering injury.

Also, pretty sure the point of the trade would be to team up Dragic/Bledsoe/Hayward/Young... so moving Bledsoe afterwards would be very stupid. In fact... I'd rather keep Dragic/Bledsoe, if it took a trade to get Hayward/Young (either before, or after getting those players). I'd just not make that trade.

I like the idea behind this for everybody. Im going to trust our Jazz colleagues when they suggest Hayward is most likely a keeper, but Im with underkanter that there has to be a firm salary point beyond which they shouldnt go. He's a pretty nice player on a rookie deal, but when he has a deal bigger than Derozan, its going to look a lot different.

I think its fair for Philly and makes sense with Thad wanting out. And I think its near perfect for Phoenix.
