I can't stand the guy, but really?
V: Griffin
which poses an interesting question - are you trying to win championships or trying to make money?
if my franchise had no chance of making or competing in the playoffs, then Griffin clearly better for marketing purposes. but if your goal is to win a championship, then I would much rather have Lillard locked in at $3 to $5 million for the next 3 1/2 seasons than Griffin locked in at $16 to $21 million for the next 4 1/2 seasons.
vote: Lillard
nominate: Wade
I don't think they are mutually exclusive, especially with the modest success Paul and Griffin have had and how young Griffin is. I'm not touting Yi or Lin and their marketability. I'm touting one of the best offensive big men in the game, one of the best rebounders, one of the best passing big men and one of the most well known players in the league.
Having his marketing appeal is a major bonus and a major reason why one of the notoriously cheapest owners has the most committed salary in the NBA.
Meanwhile, I think Lillard should be up there as I don't agree with Love or LMA as high as they are (contract situation) or Drummond.(I expected much more growth and team success)
