Magic Trades with a California Team

Post#1 » by GANGSTERDOG » Sat Apr 12, 2014 9:13 am

Which Trade is Better?

1)Aaron Afflalo, Moe Harkless

for

J. Thompson, Quincy Adams #7 Draft Pick

2) Aaron, Harkless, Nicholson

for

Jason Thompson (Or Swap Carl Landry), Jason Terry #7

Both these trade Magic Lose the Best player and acquire Bad Contracts but get a #7 and can draft a new player Or Can Combine #12 and #7 to Move Up.

Terry can be traded after April 19. I was thinking of switching Carl Landry for Thompson since its technically a Worse contract since its ALOT bigger however I don't know if the Kings actually value him or not since hes barely played. A Swap can be made to make it more even if its not close to Value.

i dont see anyone moving down from above #7, so moving up isnt an option. otherwise, dont really like these trade options. Thompson could have had a role, but O'Quinn has really stepped up his game and Thompson wouldnt really have a role, especially with his $6mil price tag

And the overrating of Afflalo continues

And 1. And never agree with you.

What other non-star expiring can pull 7th? Why does Realgm have suck a crush on him?

Thompson is definitely overpaid but you need to sub him out for Gerald Wallace to get this deal in the right ballpark.

SO it would have to be

A.A/ 12th Pick

for

Thompson/7th Pick?

Why do the Kings want Afflalo? They just unloaded Thornton to give B-Mac more time and they have Gay (and, to a lesser extent, Williams) getting most of the minutes at the 3.

To make the Playoffs. Cousins might be in a Love situation if they dont start winning

IT/Mccalum
Afflalo/ BMac
Gay-Afflalo
Landry/WIlliams
Cousins/Willie-Caulie Stein

Bmac isnt ready to be a Starter in a playoff team.....YET

That roster isn't close to a playoff roster in the West, unless a bunch of teams above them crater. Landry is at best a backup PF. He is quite useful when used off the bench in short spurts. I like that you made the assumption they get Caulie-Stein. He might not come out, and projecting draft picks is tough business without knowing were the picks land. Kings would be better off staying the course, adding young talent, and trying to acquire minor pieces.

Kings are not in a "Kevin Love" situation with Cousins. We just inked him to a big fat max contract that starts next year.

No to Afflalo for our pick.
