SAC - PHO - MIL

Post#1 » by bpcox05 » Mon Apr 21, 2014 4:38 am

SAC Gets:
John Henson
17th pick

SAC Gives:
7th pick

Why for SAC?
At the 7th pick, there aren't many players that would be good fits, so the Kings trade back and pick up a young, roleplaying big who can bring some much needed rim protection to the Kings.

PHO Gets:
7th pick

PHO Gives:
14th pick
17th pick

Why for PHO?
PHO packages their two picks to get a top 7 pick and have a better chance at finding a much needed core player. A guy like Vonleh would be a good fit on Phoenix.

MIL Gets:
14th pick

MIL Gives
John Henson

Why for MIL?
Sanders and Henson aren't very good compliments to one another. By trading Henson for a draft pick in this strong draft, they have a chance to draft a better fitting player.

Can't imagine 14/17 gets you 7. Depending who is available at 14 (or if we get Embiid) I'd do it for Milwaukee.

I think PHX needs to add more. Like Clippers owed 1st.

And I think Henson fetches more that 14th.

Meh, he's worth a late lotto. Anywhere from 10-14 would be fine with me, he's not worth more then that.

Phoenix should be receiving a couple of the Kings' bad role players.

Sacramento should be able to offload at least Outlaw and one of Terry, Thompson, Landry on Phoenix at that price.

We just had a Milwaukee fan say that he would do it for Milwaukee in this thread. You really think they would never do this? Perhaps we shouldn't deal in such absolutes.

Suns add #26 just to get in done.

Suns take on Landry and i think it works.

But I think Henson is worth 10th-12th not 14th.. I imagine if he's available for 14, Orlando would offer whatever pick they end up with (it'll be higher than 14) from Denvdr. Henson could grow into a solid enough fit with Vuc in my opinion.

I'd love such a trade for Phoenix, but I don't think it's realistic. I think they would need to add more to get a top-7 pick. Maybe next year's Minny pick (top 13 protected) or this year's Indiana's (#27). I would be ok with either option. Alas, probably not happening.

So the updated trade is below. Still doable from all parties?

SAC Gets:
John Henson
17th pick

SAC Gives:
7th pick
Carl Landry

Why for SAC?
At the 7th pick, there aren't many players that would be good fits, so the Kings trade back and pick up a young, roleplaying big who can bring some much needed rim protection to the Kings. They also shed long term salary and free up their PF position a little bit.

PHO Gets:
7th pick
Carl Landry

PHO Gives:
14th pick

Would prefer something like Henson, Delfino, 31 (or acquire a pick in the 20s) for Landry, 7

Sac gets the player they want, unload salary and still end up with a pick that might get you a nice Euro you can stash.

Milwaukee moves up and hopes to god Smart or Exum somehow fall into the 7 spot.

Suns wouldnt do this, Hell if that is the price for Henson then the Suns would just cut Sacto out and give 14 and 26 for him and still have 17th pick to deal or use. No way in hell we would give up two picks and take on a garbage contract to move up 7 spaces.

Sac is definitely on board if we can offload salary and get Henson in the process.

With the Salary Cap projections being higher than anticipated for next year, I'm not so sure I'm on board. I like John Henson more than some of the guys that might be available when we pick (I'd rather have John Henson next to Cousins than Noah Vonleh, for example). There are others that I'd be willing to take a filer on. I wouldn't trade away Marcus Smart.

It all depends on where we pick and who is available, but I could envision myself getting behind this under certain circumstances.

maybe you've haven't heard but Milwaukee is getting new owners, so their FO will most likely be new.

Henson is better than any prospect that might be there at #14. Pass unless somebody falls big time.
